Topic: Thankgiving = eating triggers
Thanksgiving is almost here, a holiday consecrated to eating. What are YOU going to do to keep your eating under control?
My strategies:
1) No alcohol on Thanksgiving. If I drink too much, I may eat too much.
2) Take a walk after the meal. Even if it is just a stroll, it will help boost my metabolism.
3) Eat Thanksgiving meal at someone else's house, so I don't have a refrigerator full of left-overs.
Good luck to us all!

Topic: response to very unhappy
I hven't been around lately because I can so relate to all of the responses to that post. I have been staying away because I am was 6 pounds to goal and I am now 20 pounds away. I haven't been able to bring myself back under control. I read a post on the grad bord and she went back to clear liquids - 3-4 protein drinks, all of the water etc for 2-3 days. I am trying it now. I started today and have done it but not without really wanting to "cheat". We will see if I can do it and if it helps. Thank you all for the posts it really helps to know that I am not alone. I usullay just lurk but I'll make a conscious effort to post and read all of your progess. It is nice not to be alone.

Topic: re: Sorry for not responding
Sorry all for not replying to your responses to my previous post. I was away as there was a death in my family. I just got back home and read all of your replies.
I'm still unhappy and have been eating bad things. I feel my clothes getting a bit tighter, just enough that I know I need to get back on track.
I'm not sure where to begin again. I want to go back to maybe doing just protein and drinks like when I just got home from having surgery and the weight came off quickly. I told myself that I didn't want to gain any weight back, the way I'm going that may happen.
I promise to return replies next time you respond.
Thanks for listening.

Hi JuliAnn! Sounds like you've done wonderfully!! 94 pounds is great. I had the RNY on 10/26/05, and have lost 115 pounds. I've still got a little ways to go until go, and now is when I know I need the support. Glad you found us!!

I am so glad you brought this up. I am not the only one. And to contridict Vicki she is not the queen of junk food. To day I had 3 full size candy bars, 8 mini's, 1 pack of 6 mini donuts and an Ice cream bar. O and did i forget the 44oz coke.
What are we going to do? I have gained 12 lb so far from my low and I am stil 60 lb from goal.
Pray for me as I will keep you all in my prayers.

Well, better late than never, or so they say, so welcome to the boards! I had lap RNY, so can't really say where you should be in terms of weight loss at 12 months out. I do know that results vary widely and 94 pounds sounds like you've made great progress. Sorry about the miscommunication with your doctor's office; hopefully that's all ironed out now.
Anyway, welcome aboard and happy reading

Topic: I'm new to the web site
I just found out about this web site. Boy, would it have been a help over the last year. I live 2 hours away form my doctor and the support group meetings so I've really been on my own. Through a miscommunication up they kind of forgot about me and I didn't even see my doctor for 8 months! I just had my 5th fill and I've lost 94 pounds total.
I'm curious to what everyone else has done a year later. Am I normal? Behind where I should be?
Topic: RE: How is everyone????
Hi Jane & everyone checking in! I haven't been on this board in a long time.
I am down 96 lbs. & more inches than I can count!
I started at a size 26W & am comfortable in 12's with an occasional 10 & one 8 (musta been a misprint! )
I dread seeing old habits creep back in, but they have! I have had a ton of stress in my life over the past several months & that hasn't helped any! But I know it's up to me to grab the proverbial bull by the horns & get with it! I have upped my fluid intake & just inthe past week & a half have dropped 4 pounds! Sometimes I see myself & see the same old fat girl inthe mirror 7 other times I see someone that looks strange & too thin to me. Weird how body dysmorphia can wreak havoc on us! Anyone else suffer from this strange thing?
I look forward to catching up with everyone! I think yall look fantastic! I have the most weight in my panni area. There is still substance there though, not just skin. My surgeon told me I was at a HEALTHY WEIGHT! WooHooo! Never heard that before! I am documenting fungal infections, frequent bladder infections that my PCP says are related to the weight of my pannus on my bladder!!
Stay in touch yall!!
