Topic: RE: GALL BLADDER SURGERY(VERY SORE)
Hi Mary, Yes, I was very very sore. It was hard to get into and out of bed for a few days, and I walked like a little old lady at first. The pain was, of course, all in my abdomen. I was in my mid 30s when I had the surgery, and it hit me pretty hard those first few days. Take your pain meds, don't over do it, but do make sure you move around some, don't just lay still, just like after WLS, moving around is important. I think I took a week off of work after the gall bladder surgery, but I'm not positive exactly how many days. Take care of yourself! Sheryl

Dennis, that is so great!! A BMI under 30 is truly something to celebrate in a big way! That is fabulous news. Just keep doing what you know is right, and you will reap the rewards of vastly improved health, energy, and looking as great as you feel. I'm so proud of you!! Sheryl

Keke, it is truly good to have you check in. I'm sorry it's been a busy and stressful time for you; I've been in a bit of a stress phase myself (too much work). Hang in there, and check back for support! We care about you! Sheryl

Keke you have been missed. You need to take the time. I counted on you and by the way how are you doing? Your profile hasn't been updated since March. Been on any big trips lately. Glad you are back. Jane

Topic: RE: how much have u lost?
I've lost 97 lbs since surgery...which is just over 80% of my excess body weight. (I started at 240, my ideal body weight is 120). Since we all started at such different weights, I'm curious as to how we're doing as far as percentages of excess body weight lost.... My surgeon's goal for me was to lose 75% of my excess body weight, which is the average for gastric bypass patients. So, technically I've reached my goal, but I'd like to lose another 18 lbs (goal of 125) Anyone else want to chime in?? Kate
