Topic: RE: Am I about done losing????
Yeah I was just curious. I gained 4 lbs this week. It seems to do that often. I lose a good amonut and then it comes back and comes off again after my period. It's just frustrating!

I thought the same thing recently, but I discovered I was violating the rules of the pouch and drinking with meals... Now I am following all the rules and I finally broke a plateau....I am 5 pounds from my goal of "normal" weight for my height.....
I really thought that my pouch was huge and was going to gain all my weight back....but if I follow the rules, I can really only eat a few bites before I am full....

Man, I hope not! I am 5'8 and was 330 the day of surgery and today I'm weighing in at 177..........so my goal is 160--- I intend to get there...it just will take a little longer than I would like, since we don't have as much to loose anymore....I know how you feel though...I so desperately want to get to goal so that I can not focus so much on the numbers but so that I can start maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Don't worry.......WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure as hell hope not...I am going up and down with the same two pounds...I want to lose another 25/30 pounds...and it is not going anywhere soon, it seems...I am working out like crazy...not eating very much...maybe it is just time for our bodies to play catch up....I know I am losing inches...my bathing trunks fell off a few weeks ago...it will happen, when it happens...enjoy yourself now...and tomorrow will come...

Topic: Am I about done losing????
Hey All.
I know it may be a silly question. But am I done losing? Is there anyone else out there that is 5'8" and started out over 300 lbs.? I have lost 157 lbs in 9 months. It has slowed down A LOT! Will I lose anymore?
I have checked out some people that are my height and around the weight I was and they are about 135 lbs. I am 153, only 2 lbs. from goal, but I'd like to be about 140 lbs.
Do you think I will ever get there, or am I at the point where I may start gaining, losing, gaining, losing?
Thanks for any help on this situation!

Ha! That's a great story, you gave me a good laugh. Fitting into medium anything - speedos or otherwise - that is truly something to celebrate!

Wow you look great! I want my plastics so bad I can taste it, but my surgeon says I need to weigh 165 before he will even concider it...I'm 150 now
so that means I have to gain weight...I don't know how the hell he expects me to do that....I've been trying to for 3 months and still no luck...eatting high fat high calorie foods...I've tried everything...he told me he wants to stretch my pouch so I can eat more and gain the weight...I'm going for a second opinion lol. Congratulations on the weight loss.

Shannon, is there no post WLS surgery support group in your area? If not, perhaps working toward starting a group will help bring you out of your funk. Shoot, just getting together with one or two WLS types, men or women will at the very least help you realize that others share your journey.
You could start off by merely going to a coffee shop or a local park and take turns bringing a suitable beverage.
This website is very helpful, however, the monthly (men only) meetings that I attend give me a chance to shake hands with fellow travelers that give me a little more strength to continue... Bud
Topic: RE: Bye bye to 150 pounds!
Megen,
Thanks for your kind words! You and I are surgery twins and we started out at almost the same weight. I lost pretty steadily for the first 6 months, but it goes in spurts now. I figure we'll keep losing as long as we fight the good fight every day - eat healthy, get in our protein, drink lots of water and get some exercise.
Good luck to you on your continuing journey!!! Way to go on your 120 pound loss! 'Atta a girl
