I always come to the board and read..I had surgery October of last year also...no way does sf syrup make you react like that ...the girl messed up and you had real syrup no doubt in my mind.. I get the sf syrup from port city java all the time..bottles of it and use it at home. I know its not the mixture of the caffinee and the sf syrup because I am addicted..(ha,ha).. I know it had to be real syrup because I ate about a tablespoon of real pancake syrup and thought I was going to die (ha,ha)..I had spots before my eyes and was sweating with cold chills like crazy.. Hey guys! I've been trying to spruce things up as far as the eating goes and I tried a new recipe tonight and thought I'd share. Some of you may have made these already, but they are Cottage Cheese Pancakes from Bariatriceating.com. Cottage Cheese Pancakes Melty, cheesy, with bits of onion... really good, and good for you! Double the recipe and serve to the family with a fresh salad bowl. Yum! Makes 4 five-inch pancakes, serves 2 Calories per serving 135, fat 6g, carbs 4g, protein 10g Small onion diced 1 teaspoon butter 1 egg 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese 2 tablespoons flour Salt & freshly ground black pepper Non-stick cooking spray Sauté onion in butter until golden; cool in pan. In small bowl, beat egg; blend in cottage cheese, flour, salt, pepper, and sautéed onion. Heat nonstick skillet, coat with vegetable cooking spray; place four 1/4 cup scoops of batter in pan, spreading into rounds with spoon. Coo****il set, flip and coo****il lightly browned. Serve with dab of sour cream if desired. I think I will try a version without the onion, salt and pepper, adding a dab of vanilla and some splenda (this was recc. by BE also). I was also thinking I could easily throw in a scoop of protein powder...there are quite a few possibilities. I thought I'd share! Anyone else have a recipe to swap??? Shelly

Hi Keke! I don't know if you remember me or not, but I only posted for a month or two after I had surgery in October of last year, and then I was away for a while. Anyway...to your question. I get very discouraged too. I'm not at my surgeons "goal" yet either. But..I feel SO much better than I did last year, don't you? I'm sure you do...you've done an AMAZING job on your weight loss! We'll ALWAYS have the "tool", and we can continue to lose it for as long as we like, even though the weight will come off slower. But isn't it better slower? It gives our skin more time to adapt to the changes. I have realized one important thing since this surgery. I'm an emtional eater too, and anytime I feel anxious or out of control I turn to food for comfort. I always "thought" I was hungry before my surgery, but it was just anxiety, that's all. I talked to my MD about it, and there are medications that can help. I'm also thinking seriously about seeing someone to help me clarify my eating issues. I want to do it now, before I start to gain weight back, which is always a possibility. Hang in there, as long as you're still losing...even if it's slowly, you're making progress! Best of luck... Me, too! Me, too! I live in Louisiana where the temperatures have been in the 80's lately. Well, night before last the temperatures dropped at night down into the 60 or low 70's. When I crawled into bed, I was freezing so bad my body was shivering, my teeth were chattering and my feet felt like ice cubes. I couldn't warm up. I finally got out of bed and double folded a quilt over me, put on a pair of socks and a long sleeve shirt over my nightgown. If hubby hadn't have been asleep, i would have put on the light and found my flannel nightgown! Anyhow, you're normal, just like the rest of us! Welcome to the losing side of life! Peggy B.
