Hi guys, I know I haven't written in months and that's probably part of my problem. My surgery date was 10/05/05 so that makes me 7months out today. I have finally lost 80 lbs. Well I actually lost more but my weight keeps fluctuating between 5 & 6 lbs. The problem is, I am so hungry lately that I find myself grazing all day long the other part is that I feel no resistance in my pouch. I can eat just about whatever I want and any amount that I want. Not that I try it because I sure don't want to gain my weight back. I must say that when I was online with you guys almost daily, I didn't gain back any weight at all. I try to go back to the post op food stages but it's not that easy anymore. Does anyone have any help for me? Please. I'm desparate. Shana

Hey Shana! Your weight loss so far is great! I don't know what to say about your being hungry. Are you really hungry? Are you drinking all your water? That can keep you from grazing. I think I could eat any amount. I rarely get full. I just measure most of the time and try to stick to half cup portions. Are you exercising? You will be able to eat a little more if you are burning more. Stick around the boards, the support does help. Marcia lap RNY 10/27/05 251/159/130

I wish I had that problem I am now seeing an eating disorder specialist who has labeled me as " bulemic with anorexic tendancies" I plain forget to eat if i get busy and in turn am losing lean muscle mass. This morning we had breakfast as a family though and i ate a whole waffle and piece of bacon but 20 minutes later snuck my laxatives the doc gave me before these problems arose. after I took it i told my family and now its put away... I have also regained my hunger. I had done some research a while back and found a book called "Pouch Rules for Dummies". It gives great advice for how to use this tool effectively long term. You can find it free on the internet if you put the title in and search. It gave me information that I did not know and had not heard anywhere else. Hope this helps, Jeanna

Hi Jeanna, Thanks forthe reply. I read the article online and it sounds great but does your surgeon agree with what it suggests? Also, have you tried to use this method yet and is it working for you? Please let me know as soon as you have time. Thanks, Shana

My surgeon is good with it. I can't follow it completely yet, but I am working my way toward following it completely. I am able to eat more at a meal now, and go longer in between eatings. Drinking with or right after a meal makes a huge difference as to how long it is before I get hungery again. For me, it is the goal that I am working toward. Jeanna

I am finding myself hungry also. I am trying to eat dense meats like chicken and steak or pork and that seems to give me that full feeling and it stays with me. I also have to watch the time to make sure i do not drink to soon after i eat. good luck. laura
