Underwater BMI
I wanted boost about my recent adventure. I went to see Dr. Dan Carey at U of St. Thomas about my underwater BMI & basil metabolic rate. I found out that currently at rest I am burning 1570 Calories/Day, have 126 Lean Body Mass & 40 lbs of Fat (24.1% Body Fat). He suggests that I should only lose about another 10 - 15 lbs. I am excited but also disappointed in the final weight suggestion. I had set my goal weight at 135 which is 31 lbs away. Will I ever be satisfied with one "number"? I try to remind myself to find a comfortable weight & shape that I can maintain a healthy diet & exercise level.
I currently consume between 1000 - 1300 calories a day, 75g Protein, & 80oz water. I perform 30 minutes cardio in the morning 5 days a week and 30 minutes weights 6 days a week. Unfortunately, I haven't seen changes in the scale and only slight changes in my measurements for almost 2 months now. Every morning I try to remind myself how far I have come in just 6 (almost 7) months. I shouldn't compare my loss to the other wonderful losers but at times that old negative demon in my head gets loud. I am happy for everyone's success - including my own. I just have to shut off that demon.
This surgery is a tool to aid in life-long weight management. It still requires personal daily commitment. Thanks for listening.
