I had my 6-month followup yesterday
My 6-month surgical followup went well. My surgeon said I look great. Like Dennis's doc, my doc looks at if I 'look' healthy as well. The scars are healing beautifully. You'd never know that my bellybutton was moved. My tummy is flat, but I had the panniculectomy at the time of surgery.
I am officially 10 pounds from goal and 13 pounds from idea weight according to the BMI charts. They didn't recognize me in the doctor's office for a few minutes and that felt GREAT!
I asked him how I was going to stop losing when the time comes. He said my body will show me how, but if I keep losing, I will need to add more calories in. He said "sensible calories please". I told him I've been good about that and I told him about my scary borscht dump. He said the patients who dump tend to have a less "adventurous" eating experience and stick to the basics. It sure is true with me.
I now go back in six months and then I'm on yearly followups.
Six months ago I was beginning this journey. Shortly I'll be at goal and on maintenance - yet another journey, but one I'm truly looking forward to.
Hugs, love and continued success to all of my October sisters and brothers.
