Well everybody it has been (almost in some cases) 6 months since we started this adventure. Lets do a comparison in where we are now to where we started. Divide how much you have lost by how much you want to lose. If you have lost 60lb and want to lose 100 (60/100=60%) Compare before and after in the following categories and add new categories if you think of some. Medicines? Exercise? Size? Life in general? Come on everyone lets have fun with this!! Deb

Divide how much you have lost by how much you want to lose. If you have lost 60lb and want to lose 100 (60/100=60%) Lost 114, want to lose 231, so have lost 49% of my excess weight. Have lost 28% of my total body weight (114/396). Medicines? Off hydrochlorothizide completely, blood pressure medication cut in half. Expect to drop blood pressure medication completely some time in May. Other than that, am only taking required supplements. Exercise? Doing cardio 4-5 times per week; can do 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer. Also lift weights 2-3 times per week; am finally seeing some muscle tone (underneath all the flabby skin!). Can walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. Before surgery, almost any physical activity left me winded and sweaty. Size? From 36/38 (5X) to 26/28 (2X or 3X, depending on manufacturer) Life in general? Is great. I'm much more physically active, which is fantastic. I love having the energy and ability to do what I want, when I want. I've had great luck with food, so feel blessed not to have some of the issues that others have had. I get lots of compliments on how I look, which is a nice reinforcer. All in all, at 6 months out I can say that WLS was definitely the right choice for me. Kellie

Still taking my Aciflux and Claritin. But, I expect to for a long time. Exercise? BEFORE: Nothing. Feet hurt too bad to walk around. Plus, I was tired all of the time. AFTER: I walk on my treadmill 4 - 5 times per week for 30 - 45 minutes. Plus, I do weights and resistance bands. Just starting pilates. Size? BEFORE: Size 24 AFTER: Size 14 (OMG! Can that be???) Life in general? BEFORE: Lived for food. Felt like an outsider, becuase my family could do fun things, and I could not. AFTER: I'm out there running around with everyone. Hi Everyone, I have been one of those that go on line and read everyone's messages but have never posted a message. My surgery was 6 months ago today. I weighed 285 then and now weigh 200. I've lost 85 pounds and that works out to be 60% of what I want to loose. I was a size 24/26 (3x-4x), shoe size 9 1/2, bra size 40c. I now wear size 14 or 16 (med. or large), shoe size 8 -8 1/2, bra size 36 B (I'm sure it is now, even smaller.) I feel pretty and enjoy all the compliments I am getting. I now longer take any meds only vitamins. I use to be border line everything (diabetes, high blood pressure, needing CPAP) I am now far from all that. I am not the best a getting my exercise in but that is my goal -- to increase my exercise. I am pretty good at walking but I really need to start strength training. Life is great! I have so much energy! I enjoy spending time with my grandsons ( I can not only get on the floor but also get up.) I walk past people at work and they do double takes. I just do not look the same. I also look a lot younger than I am. My patients all guesss me to be high 20 something or low 30's (But I am really 45). That feels great to. I have absolutly no regrets with having wls. Mary
