Increased hunger, anyone else notice?

Its like all of a sudden, I am hungry again. I like it though, because along with the hunger, and being able to tolerate more, I have more energy again, and I feel all around better in every aspect. My hair loss has slowed down ALOT. For awhile all I wanted to eat was salads and fruit. Now I want to eat meat. I can tolerate almost anything, but notice if I eat too fast I am in trouble. The only things thus far I have noticed that bother me are peanut butter, and sometimes carbs depending on what it is. I have a hard time with bread as well. Its like as I near 6 months out, I am getting more "normal" again. Now, I cant eat HALF as much as I used to, but going out to eat is more enjoyable for me, and I dont leave without being so discouraged anymore. I can FINALLY , FINALLY say, that NOW, I am 100% sure when I say if I could do this all over again, I would. I am down to 152 lbs. Thats a total of 117 since July. The longest I plateau'd was 2 weeks I think. It's like I wont lose, then I will lose a bunch, then I wont lose again. Thats the pattern I have been noticing with me. Anyways sorry to ramble on... I am hoping to be a more active part of this board. Now that I am feeling 100% better anyways. BTW, you all are doing such a great job, keep up the good work!!!

I know exactly how you feel!!! I have not lost any weight in a week and a 1/2. I also feel like I am eating much more. My belly actually growels sometimes!!! I am worried all the time about it and try to keep from eating to much. I will not put the weight back on. I refuse to!! Erin 292/185/151

I don't have my hunger back yet, wouldn't care if it never came back. But, I have read that around 6 months it returns. I have an aunt that had this surgery 6 years ago and has never had hunger since. You are doing great! 117 lbs!!! I bet you feel amazing! Are you close to your goal? Try Russell Stovers SF chocolates from Wal-Mart, Ms Vi ... They are very filling & have a very good flavor, but be careful of the fat & calorie content. When I get a chocolate craving, one Turtle will usually do it for me.

Chocolate??? I would eat it all day if I could!! I can tolerate it, which scares me.... I have a little here and there but what about when I can consume more of it?? I try and keep myself away from those things lol. I crave it too... or those straberry shortcake rolls (like swiss rolls) I have been craving them too. Have been good and not indulged into them, but its enough to drive me nuts!! I do have a question... I know we can't take Ibuprofen, but I dont remember why??

I've noticed that too but I don't like it. It scares me. All of a sudden I can eat a lot more. I'll have to be really careful now.

I've noticed it too. I've been real hungry this month and have been eating more. I had my 6th month checkup today with the surgeon and my BMI is normal!!!!!!! It just blows me away (still pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming) I did ask the surgeon today about being hungry and being able to eat more. I told him last week, I was able to eat a whole small chili from Wendy's and it worried me. He said not to worry that my pouch and my body will let me know when I'm full. I find it odd because two weeks ago, that same chili, I was only able to eat a few bites of and was full. Maybe our bodies are going through another transition phase?? I asked him about the caloric intake of the increased food and hunger and he said as long as you exercise off the exess that you take in, all will be okay and he said as long as I ate slowly and stopped when I feel pressure, I wouldn't be stretching out the pouch...I don't know what to think about it??!! All I know is it is hard for me to become full or satisfied with just the 2oz at each meal. I'm glad to see that you are doing so well Laurie with your 117lb loss..that's so awesome!

Try something more textured to see how much you can eat ...Like steak, chicken or pork ... I can eat a lot more when the food is soft (like chili) but only about 5 normal bites of meat. Usually that is somewhere between 3-4 ounces of highly-textured food.
