Last Place
BUT I DID IT!!!! I walked a 5K (3.1Mile) today. I was walking on a flat nature trail and I got to the race and it was in the hills. I almost backed out. But I did it!!!
6 months ago I needed an electric cart to get around the grocery store. WOW what a change This has made in my life.

Good job Deb! I'm doing a 5K in about 8 weeks. I have been training for the past 3 weeks. My goal is to do it in under 45 min, but right now I can run 4 miles in that time, so I'm sure I will do fine. The path is flat and straight, another plus. I can't wait to cross that finish line! Congrats to you!

Deb!!! In MY book, you came in first place!!! Good for you girl, you are my hero!!! What you accomplished today is more than inspiring! How awesome!
It IS truly amazing the things that this surgery changes in our lives. From little things to big things - and they are all wonderful! The elevator was broken in my building last week, the whole week - and I discovered I can go up and down the stairs now like a normal person, rather than the way I used to, which I just realized would be hard to describe! One of my biggest WOW's is that I can now kneel on the kneelers in mass AND not even have my bottom on the pew - I can actually knee and hold myself up straight - that is something I dreamed of for so long! SO many things that this surgery does for us!!! We are truly blessed!!
Congratulations to you for your walk today and you know what - if they have the same walk next year I hope you go, cuz you won't be finishing last or almost blacking out! Please let us know!!
Thanks so much for sharing - you made my night! Much love from Miami, Carol
YOU I want to be YOU!!!
I was just talking about that to my daughter last nite about doing a 5k! she just rolled her eyes. What kind of training did you do? I'm walking everyday now (I've never done that before) and doing weights but I want to walk in a 5k, something else I've never done. I'm soooo proud of you, your amazing.
