You think it's the plateau buster or just the timing?

I know we were all stalling around the same time and I see everyone is breaking out of it -- I am too, suddenly dropped 9 lbs since last week and I'm thrilled! I'm down 88 lbs since surgery, can't wait to hit that 100 lb mark! I was hoping to do it in my 7th month! Anyway, I wasn't doing a plauteau buster, I was just patiently waiting for the scale to catch up with the rest of me! So I wonder if the plauteau busters really do the trick or if it's just a coincidence and we all have to go through these stalls so that our bodies adjust?

Rachel...I think you have a very valid point I know I was eating more carbs...and the weight did not come off...now that I am back to basics...the weight is flying off...so who knows...at this point I am saying the Plateau Buster is doing it......I did not want to wait it out like Vi... whatever works and makes us do the happy ...Dennis

I agree completely that it's easy to fall back into those bad habits. I haven't been on a protein train though, I've just keep eating as I was from the beginning and my weight seems to be dropping again. Hugs, Vi

I agreee Vi!! I always stop. I lose 5 lbs and it goes up and down for 2 weeks. Then I lose another 3-5. Then fight that for 2 weeks and so on and so on. Erin 292/185/140

Hi Erin, It definitely seems to be the pattern! My plateau's seem to be painfully long -- they last 3, 4 and 6 weeks!! But then the losses after are pretty good, so I won't complain (too much). Hugs, Vi

Hey Violet I have from the start loose for like 10 days and then plateau for 7-14 days. I just keep doing the same thing. I am down 95 lbs. I am not tracking I am making good choices. My thought was life change and I can't continue to keep tricking myself into losing wt. I am exercising which I have never done in my life. I am making good choices with food and I am lucky because I just can't tolerate breads rice or pasta. So I eat my protein first then vegies and so on. I still do a protein shake every AM, UNJURY, because Iam not a breakfast person. The water has been a challenge. But I have to stay away from quick fixes and stay focused on life changes. Good luck everyone Jane 296/201/150 goal

I'm with you sister! I couldn't keep tricking myself either or going for those temporary fixes that always messed me up in the end! So whatever I could live with is what I have to stick with! Like you though, I can't tolerate most breads, etc, so that hasn't been a problem thank goodness! I have 2 protein shakes a day, one in the morning and one at night so that I make sure I get enough! Water is also a challenge for me. Some days I'm ok and other days I just can't fit it in, but this gets better every day. What a wonderful life this surgery has given us! I've never been happier. HUGS Vi
