I posted this on the NY boards and I got lots of responses so i thought i would try it here too. Hi everyone. I was just thinking. I have seen a few new faces and names on our board and i think it would be nice to introduce ourselves briefly {we have profiles but this is a little easier} Just a little something about ourselves so we make sure we know who everyone is. Even if you are just a lurker, just something like Name, age, where from, ocupation,if you had surgery when , if your scheduled when, docs name how much you have lost, family info and some interests...It might make some people just feel more comfortable and bring out more posters. I will start: My name is LisaMarie, I am 34 years old. I am from Manhattan. I am married now 12 years {with the pain since i was 15 } I have 4 beautiful children agaes 14, 10, 3 and 2 soon to be 14, 11, 4 and 3....I am a registered nurse. I had my surgery Halloween 2005 by Dr DeCsepel at St Vincents Hospital and i am down 68 pounds and counting. I am a very big sports fan {Lets Go Rangers and Lets Go Yankees} i enjoy going to games with my kids. I have also picked up a new hobby SHOPPING....I love these boards they have provided me with much support and friendship. Feel free to email me anytime. And i look forward to talking to you all again at our chat sessions. Monday, Wed at 8pm and Mondays at 2pm. Ok so who is next???? LisaMarie

My name is Carol, I'm 32 and I'm from NJ. I've been married for 6 years, together for 13. We have no kids yet, but will probably be adopting in the next few years. I am a police/fire/EMS dispatcher and am hoping to get hired as a cop this year. I had my lap rny on Oct 10 2005 and have lost 93 pounds since then. I'm down a total of 101 including my 8lb pre-op loss. I love camping and am trying to love hiking, running, etc. Exercise is not my favorite thing in the world, but I'm working on that. I can't wait for the real Spring weather to get here. I'm also looking forward to being able to swim in the Summer. I'm so happy I have these boards for support and encouragement along my path to good health. Carol

My name is Marcia. I'm 29 years old, married for 11 years in July. We started dating when he was 15 and I was 16. We have a 2 girls, ages 10 and nearly 7 and a boy that is 5. I had surgery on Oct. 27, 2005 and have lost just over 80 lbs. I love to scrapbook in my free time, but lately I have been more focused on doing things that don't involve sitting. I signed up for a 5K run with my gym. That will take place on June 3, so I have started training for it. I'm looking foward to crossing the finish line. My hubby is going to be having WLS very soon. He sees the surgeon on Tuesday and will get a date then (usually takes about a month). So, I'm looking forward to helping him through the initial stages and getting healthier together. I also love softball. All three of the kids play and I would love to play someday. I played with my church team in high school. Marcia

Hi Everyone, I'm Jennifer Taylor and I'm 31 yrs. old. I live in Bellingham, WA but I was born, raised and lived in Wrangell, Alaska up until 4 years ago. I've been married since 8-1-91. (yes, I was only 17 but been with hubby since I was 15.) I have 2 beautiful kids, Tyler's 14 and Nena (Christina) is 6 soon to be 7 on May 20. I completed 2 degrees in 3 years from Northwest Indian College here in Bellingham. I now work as IT personal at a large Credit Union. I had surgery with Dr. David Lauter on Oct. 26, it was LAP RNY with a 1oz pouch and 100cm bypassed. I feel so lucky to have had this surgery, I haven't weighed this little since before my son was born (first pregnancy I gained almost 100lbs.) I've had no unforseeable complications. My only complaint is over half of my hair has fallen out. My hair is/was thick native hair down to my rear and it was the only thing I was vain about I'm also still waiting for my boobs to shrink. At 85lbs lost I've only gone from a 46DDD to 40DD, I know I really shouldn't complain about that one but I'm getting kind of out of proportion and my back is starting to hurt. Ok enough complaints. I'd do it again in a second, even if I had to finance it myself. From living on an island in Alaska practically my whole life I'd never been to a concert, well last summer went to Motley Crue and a few weeks ago I went to Aerosmith (yea so I'm and 80's kid .) I'M HOOKED. I'm going to all of them I can afford this summer. I'm taking my 14 yr old to Ozzfest this year. His first concert and he wanted it to be Ozzy, you make your 80's metal mom so proud Hubby's doing well with the surgery except my hormones are so out of wack it's driving him nuts.

Great idea! Hey, all, I'm Rebecca- I'm 33 and married to Jamie for 10 1/2 years. We have 3 great kiddos- 2 boys (almost 9 and 6) and 1 girl (2 next month). We live in Lexington, SC, right outside of Columbia, but I grew up in Charlotte. I stay home with the kids and eventually will go back and finish nursing school. My dream job is to be a sign language interpreter, but nursing will pay the bills first, I think. I had lap RNY on Oct 14th at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) and so far I've lost 75lbs! I have 12 more to meet my surgeon's goal and 22 more to meet mine, but it's slowed WAY down. I've gone from a tight size 18 to a size 8, which is unreal to me. I'm smaller now than I was when I graduated high school 16 years ago. Nice to get to know more about you all! Rebecca 227/152/130
