I haven't lost any weight in about a month. I'm very depressed! I have only lost 62 pounds. My Five month anniversary is March 5. I feel like I'm falling back into my old habits. My Surgeon said you only lose alot of weight in the first 6 months. Does anyone know if this is true? I finally got under 200 pounds and wasn't excited I wanted it to be more. I'm holding at 198 and the scale won't move. Also My medications don't seem to be working. Has anyone else had the problem of Malabsorbtion? I'm on my third round of Antibodics for a Sinus infection. The Dr. said he will probably have to start giving me injections instead of pills. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks kk.

Hi Karen. If you are doing everything right ...and getting in your excercise...you will lose....62 pounds is great...and it takes about a year to get all the weight off...I have lost 58 pounds and am thrilled...just want to see it keep going down...with the amount of calories we are getting in, it has to keep going down...just make sure you do what you are supposed to do...and protein, water and walk...it will happen...hang in there you are losing inches, if not pounds...Check all the other boards...and see the stats...the doctor says most of the weight, ok...how much more do you have to take off...are you more then 1/2 there...did you start at a lightweight...up your protein... Hi Dennis, Thanks for your response. I want to lose 70 more pounds. The Dr. says I will lose about 48 more pounds and thats it. I will start uping my protein and water and see if that helps. Plus I haven't exercised much because I have a bad back. Thanks again! kk

Karen, I have lost 60 lbs. in five months as well and it is hard because you read about and talk to others that are losing so quickly, but at least my weight is going down. I do find that some of my old habits creep back, like drinking during my meal or grazing or finding a way to eat sweets and I noticed when I stop doing those things the scale moves. Also, are you exercising? You honestly could be building muscle which weighs more than fat.

Hi Jennifer That's what scares me the most is my old habits coming back. I'm also drinking during meals and find myself grazing. I need it to stop. I have seen more than a few gastric bypass patients get really heavy a few years after surgery. I don't want to be in that group. I have a bad back so I cant do regular exercise. My Dr. said swimming would be great. I guess I will have to get back in some kind of bathing suit. Thanks for sharing about your weight loss. I thought I was the only one that hadn't taken off 100 pounds in 5 months. kk.

Hello. I had a stall & it lasted a month. I think its just natural to stall so your body can catch up with all you have lost in such a short time. Dont get disappointed. When stalling with weight loss, I think the inches are coming off instead which is a good deal!!! I have lost a total of 80 pounds and my surgery was also on October 5th. I weigh 185 now. You have to also think about what your eating and just try and determine if your eating the wrong stuff even though it may only be a little bit. Everyone is different with losing and its hard to compare to others. Good luck!!! Renee

Hi Renee Thanks for your Response. I should be at 185 pounds also. Do you only eat protein or do you have carbs too? How many shakes a day do you drink? What is an example of a meal for you? What do you do for exercise. Any advice would be helpful. It sounds like the surgery has been a real success for you. We weighed about the same before the bypass. You can e-mail me directly if you like. Thanks kk.
