She dumps!

It WAS awful, Vi! I've been eating yogurt for a while now, but I can't eat a whole one. I've never even tried to eat more than 4 ounces at a time because I've been afraid of the sugar. I know that was a justifiable fear now that I actually dumped. I think the carb control Dannon has less sugar that 14 grams, but I don't remember for sure. I get gas from all kinds of things. I don't know that yogurt is one of them, but it sure could be. I'm just a gas machine. Thank heavens for Gas-X or I'd be in pain a lot. Cheryl

Cheryl, I experience the same dumping as you discribed. Sometimes if I eat something and I am just sitting on the couch watching tv, I will get warm, and I can feel my heart just pounding. I will take my pulse and it is like 130-160 per minute.. (I have taken it when I am feeling good and normal for me is like 65-85).. I will feel sick, dont know if I need to go to the bathroom, not sure if I need to throw up.. I just know I dont feel "right".. I will go in the bathroom and lean over the toilet and the last time this happened I could have passed out, it was like my eyes closed for alittle longer then a blink.. I got up and got into my bed. I dont remember saying it, but I guess I told my daughter and my husband I felt like I was dying..(lol..) The first time this happened, I was sitting on my toilet and I got up and laid on the floor too.. was hot at first, then when I moved to the floor I had chills so hubby covered me.. best thing I do is just get in bed, and go to sleep until it passes.. this has only happned afew times and it is NOT pleasant!! take care Cathy 260/197/160

Cathy, Do you know what you ate to make that horrible dump/faint happen? I'm sure it was the beet soup because that's all I ate that night around that time. It was so scary. I'm so glad your family was aware and awake when it happened to you. I wonder if this happens to many of us? ...so it never EVER happens again... Cheryl 240/160/140

THIS IS THE VERY REASON WE SHOULD PUT "NO GLUCOSE" ON OUR MEDIC ALERT BRACELETS ALONG W/ "NO BLIND NG TUBE". OUR BODIES AREN'T USED TO SUGAR ANY MORE & IF YOU WIND UP IN THE HOSPITAL UNCONSCIOUS, THEY WILL GIVE YOU FLUIDS WITH GLUCOSE (SUGAR) WHICH GIVES YOU A CONDITION LIKE A DIABETIC REACTION. THEY WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT IF THEY AREN'T AWARE OF YOUR GASTRIC BYPASS & HIGH PROTEIN/LOW CARB DIET. SORRY YOU HAD SUCH A SERIOUS REACTION, MS CHERYL. IF THERE IS A NEXT TIME, IF YOUR FAMILY IS AWARE OF YOUR REACTION ... THEY SHOULD CALL 911 OR, IF YOU HAVE A GLUCOMETER, HAVE THEM TEST YOUR BLOOD FOR YOUR SUGAR LEVEL. SINCE YOU BLACKED OUT, YOU WERE IN SEVERE DISTRESS. GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK
