My nut says 1200 a day when I am at the gym...never below a 1000...rite now I am sidelined from the gym due to illness..and it is killing me...I have a higher carb allowance than most...I won't even share because most would think I am nuts...but I stick with 38 fat and 110 protein...that is for 1200 calories..all my carbs are complex carbs...

We are told to eat 6 small meals a day spaced about every 3 hours. I've been doing that for the most part. Some days 4 small meals but never less that that. We are just told to keep our protein at the level we were told (everyone is different) and not to go over a certain amount of fat a day. For me it's 45 a day. It's rare that I am at 45. Usually somewhere around 35/38 at the highest. To date I've lost 75. But I have been trying to increase my protein. Some days it works where I can get more in. That is something that I have to keep working on. I usually use Fitday and my calories range anywhere from 900 to 1200. Usually in the 1000 to 1100 bracket.

Hey Dennis. I didn't worry about calories too much until I started using FitDay. I have a range of 700-1000. I like to stay closer to 700, but hubby says that just isn't enough. I workout a lot, so he says I should be able to eat 1000, but that seems like it's too close to the 1200 cal. days I used to do pre-surgery. I have an appt on Thursday and will definately be asking about that. Maybe 700 isn't enough???
