Hello Deb! Sugery Date: October 13, 2005 Weight at Surgery: 256 Weight today: 170 How many meals a day do you eat including snacks? 3 meals and maybe 1 or two snacks What protein bar is your favorite? NONE they all give me an upset stomach Name the biggest improvement in your life since surgery: No more medication!! (diabetic meds, high blood pressure meds, heart meds, kidney meds or cholesterol meds) Do you find that people treat you differently? Oh yes yes yes. I found that my job does. I applied for the same promotion about 6 months ago weight was 256 lbs and was denied...applied again after losing 50 some pounds a few months ago and got the promotion. Interesting eh???!!! I am now visible to people and people want to talk to me now..it's hard to get used to that. Do you look at heavy people and want to tell them about gastric bypass? Only ones who I am close to. My aunt who weighs over 300lbs was very negative towards me about having surgery..now that she see that I'm healthy she wants to have it done. I also have a supervisor at work who has struggled with his weight who I've sat down and talked to about it. But he says he probably won't have it done because he is scared. What is your goal to celebrate once you meet your goal weight? This may sound a little crazy but I want to go back to Las Vegas. In August 2005, my husband took me there for our 10 year anniversary and bought me a ticket to see the Thunder From Down Under show..well I had my picture taken with the guys and oh my gosh I looked like the goodyear blimp and I was so sad. So, when I get to my goal weight, I want to go back out and have another picture taken with the guys. I should see about putting that picture on my profile so you all can see...so embarassing!!!
