Deb...the lettuce is empty calories...try a cobb salad with chicken, bacon bits, eggs and all the protein things with a light ranch dressing.... Dennis

Hi Deb, I had my first one Sunday! Made a small one at a salad bar & put turkey, ham, cheese, sunflower seeds, eggs & anything else that looked like protein!! LOL I tried before but dumped really bad. I think it was the Ranch dressing though, because I tried some on some chicken & did the same thing! Gina

Yikes Gina..I put ranch on everything cuz it helps it go down easier. Maybe try another dressing. My only suggestion is chew the crap out of it

Hi Deb, I've been eating salads for over a month now without problems. I haven't bothered trying iceberg lettuce, really. Maybe that's what gave you gas. At salad bars, I don't even get any lettuce. I get tomatoes and egg and cheese and ham and turkey and cukes and peppers and onions. You get the picture. I also put nuts and stuff on top and then some FF dressing. Salads taste SO good lately. I really was craving it. Now I have salad a few times a week either for lunch or dinner. It's a good idea to only add one new food in at a time; so you're on the right track. Personally, I'd keep the greenery to a minimum, though, and concentrate on having a protein salad. Enjoy! Cheryl
