Has hunger come back for you?
Hi all,
I think my stomach has awoken. The last few days I've noticed that I am hungry all the time. It actually feels like I haven't eaten in days. This is freaking me out. I haven't lost a single lb. in 2 weeks. I haven't been exercising due to hurting my back and now this hunger thing. I'm afraid I'll be derailed. I still have a lot to lose to get to my goal. I'm not even close.

About a month ago, I went through a period of about 2 weeks where I was always hungry - the stomach growling kind. I started to feel a bit 'cheated' since people at my support group during this time told the newer people that hunger wouldn't come back for at least 6 months. That said, for the last few weeks, I don't feel hungry like that anymore. You never know. The body - especially surgically altered ones - is a weird thing!

Hi Dawn,
I can definitely eat more and I noticed the past couple of weeks I was eating every two hours, ...but I was due for my menstral cycle and I really do notice that I eat more while waiting for that. Once it is here, I go back to eating less often and smaller quantities. It is so weird. What makes it worse is that I am peri-menopausal so sometimes it is taking like 50 days before my cycle starts and I get the PMS stuff for over two weeks. So I make sure I have healthy snacks around the house that have very little fat or no fat. I've also increased my water, started back exercising 3 days a week for 1/2 hour and increased my protein and I've dropped 5 lbs. after about 6 days. Of course my cycle started too and I've been more on track with eating so I think that has helped.
I've come to realize that now is when the real work starts. This is when I must use the tool the Dr. gave me the right way. I think now I am more like everyone else in the world who has been dieting with the results of loosing weight and keeping it off. I have learned good habits and now I must apply them. So now I eat right and smaller quantities, exercise and drink water and I will continue to lose weight and keep it off. This is why it ****** me off when someone says or thinks we took the easy way out. Are you kidding me????!!!!! Oh well, I just know that there will be times/days/weeks when I will be able to eat more than normal and will want to but know that I will get right back on track again.
You are not alone!
Hugs,
Loretta
I'm getting hungry more as well. The Growling tummy kind. My pouch rumbles & then I hear it like it's traveling south for about 20 minutes. I still can't eat much though! I did loose the 3 pounds I had gained back, but no more! My sister-in-law had wls surgery years ago & she told me yesterday words I have heard so often lately..."If you don't eat, you won't lose". I don't think I get enough calories in! I think max would be 700 or 800 for me!

Dawn,
My hunger comes and goes, and has been like that for weeks. Some days, I eat every two hours, and some days I have trouble get 3 eatings in. I have found that I lose better the weeks that I have eaten every 2 hours consistantly. It is, of course small amounts, so I don't worry. I do keep track of calories and protein, just so I know that I'm not getting out of control. I find that on the every two hour days, I consume around 1000 calories, and on the others, I get around 500. And like I said, I lose better on 1000 calories a days. I really think that it is my body saying "feed me!".
Good luck,
Jeanna
