Just checking regarding my weightlost so far
Hi Heather,
From what I've read hear and from my nutritionist, it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to get in at least 60-80 grms protein every day. I shoot for 100, getting 60 from protein shakes and the rest from food.
I don't track my calories but from what I've read, if you don't increase your calories to at least 800-1000, you're body will go into starvation mode and you're weight loss will slow. I track carbs (no more than 100/day and complex ONLY), sugar (no more than 6-10 grms/meal), and fat (>25/day). If you're only getting 20 grams of protein and eating 600-800 calories/day, what are you eating? Too many carbs??? You probably want to go back and track how you're doing.
Lots of the folk here use fitday.com to track their progress and intake. I made a spreadsheet and that's how I track but whatever, just do it so if you do slow down, you'll know what to fix. This will help develop good habits so that when it gets tough, or when you're trying to maintain your loss, you'll have good tools to keep you at goal or kick-start you're loss.
Be sure to get you're water, too. I shoot for 100 oz/day with water, shakes, and green tea. Find something you'll drink and drink, drink, drink...water is best because it flushes the toxins out that are being released from the fat melting away in our bodies. I missed getting my water in a couple of days due to watching sick grandkids and lo and behold, my face broke out BAD!!! Now I make sure to stay hydrated and flushed. Some believe water even flushes out fat...I HOPE!!! Regardless, you won't go wrong and you'll feel lots better if you get your water.
Sorry this is so long. If you have any questions or just want to visit, feel free to email.
Later,
Nancy
YOU KNOW, MS NANCY ... I'M HAVING EXHAUSTION ISSUES & AM IN A MAJOR STALL, BUT I'M STILL SO THRILLED WITH THIS WLS LIFESTYLE THAT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. JUST HITTING A FEW BUMPS IN THE ROAD RIGHT NOW, BUT IF I HAD HIT THEM PRIOR TO SURGERY, I WOULD HAVE ALREADY REGAINED ALL MY LOST WEIGHT BACK ... WHICH I HAVEN'T ... JUST SITTIN' & STALLIN'. SO, EVEN WITH THE STALL, IT IS STILL SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE SURGERY!
CONGRATS ON YOUR 169 ... WOWOW, "ONDERLAND" ... I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF THE 2s & INTO THE 100s!!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU, GIRL DAWN & NICK
