calories
Does anyone know what is the minumum amount of calories we need to get in everyday? There are some days I go back and look and see where I have only gotten maybe 450 calories in, I know I need more than that just to be healthy.
I am 4 months out and was wondering what others are aiming for. I find myself eating peanut butter just to get more calories in my day.

Laura,
When I went to my doctor on Friday for my 4-month followup, he told me that I needed to have between 750-1000 calories a day. I was only eating about 450 at the maximum as food. I now supplement my diet with two shakes a day. That brings my calories up near the right level.
I think peanut butter might have too much fat to be your main protein source. Have you found any protein shakes that you can tolerate? Even a glass of double-strength milk with added nonfat dry milk for a protein boost would be a better protein source for you. Don't cut out the peanut butter, it's still good -- just don't try to make it your primary protein source.
Is there anyone at your doctor's office who can give you their calorie requirements? All the doctors are different. It's always the best practice to check with your doc for their specific program.
Happy V-day!
