100 lbs GONE!!!
Erin...good job...well done......you are doing great...everyone loses at different speeds...I started at 285...and was considered a light weight...as I am 5'11...I am down 55 pounds as of today and more then 1/2 to my goal...so we all have to look at how tall we are, what was the starting weight...what is our goal weight...and most important is everyone is different we all do it at different speeds, do don't even try to compare....the end product is the same...the weight we lose...is gone forever...and not about the looks...about how healthy we are today, compared to how we felt three months ago...so October people, we are all doing a fabulous job..., ... the wls Dennis
A 100lbs loss is great. Good for you. I have to admit that I too get jealous at the large amount of weight some of you have lost just 4 months out. But you are right, different people lose at different rates. I started my journey (Jan 2005) at 245 & size 24 and by the time of my surgery (Oct. 10) I was 229 and now around 174 and size 12. Which translates to 55lbs in 4 months and a total of 71 lbs in 1 year. There are only 45 lbs between me and my goal. But I am giving myself until 10/10/06 to reach it.
This is what I try to remind myself: The slower and steadier the weightloss the higher my chances to maintain the goal weight. WLS mandates life changing habits and not just a quick solution to immediate weightloss. My WLS was an investment for a long term solution vs. a short term relief. These personal thoughts tend to keep me focused on daily exercise and frequent healthy small meals (and limits my cheats) and less on the jealousy factor.
We have all accomplished some great feats. Keep up the good work.
