for about the last week I have been eating awfull and have been craving sweets again really bad and it seems like they are everywhere. I found out that that is one of the side effects for one of my meds and i with the doc about changing it and they said it is something i really need for the pain in my back. I wish there was some way I could go hide from all the carbs and sweets. I dont want to fall into old habits. I have decided one thing though I am going to start posting everything I consume in here though so you guys can hold me accountabable deal??? I am hoping that if im held accountable by someone besides myself this might help so dont beafraid to yell at me and keke im gonna post my exercise to. I also am going to blog on my 360 page a few of you knw where to find that. 276/211.5/135 Kim

Hi Kim, First off, I just want to say how ironic it is that: 1. We had surgery on the same day 2. We started off at the same weight, and 3. We are the same weight RIGHT NOW! How truely ironic is THAT!?! I'm with you on the craving sweets/carbs thing. I have started this morning trying my best to cut all the carbs I can in order to get a grip on this thing. It's like I need to go "cold turkey" on the carbs for a few days, and it seems to help with the cravings. Try that and see how it goes. Best of luck! Lori

Kim- The cravings are normal- I have them too, mostly for carb-laden chips and crunchy things, but occasionally sweets. I've been buying the sugar-free pudding, sugar-free ice cream & popsicles- things like that seem to help and they don't taste bad either! Good luck, Jessica

Kim...I allow myself a sugar free pudding or rice pudding each night...and sometimes I buy the sugar free hard candies to suck on...also for the crunchy stuff..soy chips...has good protein to...you can do this, yes you can...just get the better stuff...not the junk...and once in a while treat yourself to the real thing...but after a while you won't miss it..... ...so try the sugar free stuff...it is good to... I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A SWEET TOOTH SO I LOOK FOR THE SPLENDA THINGS &&&&& FRUIT. I LOVE MANDARIN ORANGES ... YOU CAN GET INDIVIDUAL SERVING CUPS (JUST POUR OUT THE JUICE, OF COURSE). I USE S-F POPCICLES, NSA BLUE BUNNY SWEET FREEDOM FUDGCICLES & ICE CREAM BARS ... & RUSSELL STOVER S-F CANDIES - PECAN TURTLES ARE MY FAVORITE! ALSO, THERE ARE A TON OF S-F COOKIES OUT THERE ON THE MARKET NOW THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. IF YOU ARE DIABETIC, CHECK YOUR GLUCOSE ABOUT 20 - 30 MINUTES AFTER TRYING A S-F OR NSA PRODUCT ... SOME WILL BE OK, SOME WILL INCREASE YOUR GLUCOSE JUST AS IF YOU ATE A SPOONFUL OF REAL SUGAR. IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR BODY'S REACTION. NICK CAN EAT THE S-F HARD CANDIES, BUT NOT MOST OF THE S-F COOKIES, FOR INSTANCE. JUST DON'T EAT SO MANY THAT YOUR FAT-INTAKE GOES WAY UP OR YOU DON'T GET YOUR PROTEIN & GREEN VEGES IN. THERE ARE SO MANY S-F & NSA PRODUCTS SWEETENED W/ SPENDA THAT IT SHOULD KEEP YOU FROM GOING FOR THE ACTUAL CANDY/COOKIE AISLE. IT'S ALL A BALANCING GAME ... BUT, WE HAVE A LOT OF S-F GOODIES TO HELP US THROUGH THOSE TIMES WHEN WE ARE CRAVING SWEETS, MS KIM! GOOOOOOOD LUCK TO YOU! GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

If you really need sweets at least try sugar free. But as long as you just have one now and then you should be fine. Celia
