Hair cloogin' up my drain.......
Now I thought hair loss was supposed to be gradual and only a bit here and there, until i checked my shower drain and it was soo clogged....my hair started coming out just a wee little bit about a month ago, but now i can run my fingers through my hair and get at least 4 strands at a time!!!! I was totally freakin' out last night when all I came back with was hair!!!!
I am taking my Biotin everyday religiously....AM I FORGETTING SOMETHING??? My nails are also getting really thin and breakin all the time!!!
And I have been on a stall now for 2 weeks!!! oh well at least I know the 62lbs. I have lost, are stayin' lost forever!!!!
Hi Shannon,
My hair's been clogging the drain and filling my hair brush for about a month now. I had my 4 month anniversary on the 3rd of February. I take my vites religiously. My nails are stronger than ever, and they were strong before. I've always been a "shedder", but now I'm really shedding.
I haven't noticed that it looks thinner or feels different, but I sure lose a good amount in the drain...enough to make the water go down the drain slower so that I have to move it off the strainer.
I don't have any suggestions on what to do. I know it's not permanent, but it sure does cause me concern. If you hear of anything else to do for hair loss, please let me know too.
Cheryl
Hi Shannon,
I've been losing my hair since around Thanksgiving and I didn't have much to begin with. Lady D mentioned that she takes 3 Biotin and has since the beginning and did not lose a strand of hair. It seems that what is good for the general population is not enough for us especially with our absortion levels being lower since surgery. So I have increased my Biotin. She had mentioned that 1 is for maintenance. I'm hoping it will help. I do understand that it will stop but I hope soon!
Hugs,
Loretta
You are not alone! My hair is coming out in handfuls. I'm afraid to brush my hair, because I know what I'll find is the brush full of hair after just a few strokes. But I figure, if worse comes to worst, I'll just cut it real short and let it all grow out again. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't have this surgery for vanity; I had it to become healthy! So if I look like a plucked chicken along the path to good health, so be it. (Though, in my heart, I really would rather NOT lose all this hair.)
I couldn't find biotin at my two local grocery stores, but I am taking flax seed oil the past couple of weeks, a couple of folks recommended it. Can't hurt, might help.
As for the two week stall, surely that will break soon! 62 lbs, you've come so far, you're doing great!

Mine is coming out too. But I don't care. I hate, I mean HATE my hair (check out my profile and see all my pics where I'm wearing bandanas). For the past few summers I have actually shaved it all off. Now, I'm trying to let it grow out and possibly get something nice done with it. But, it's so thick and curly, let it all fall out. I don't think there's really anything we can do about it. Just ride it out and by the summertime it should be growing back in. I have read that you will not go bald. Try to enjoy all the good stuff!

I'm having the same problem. I cut my hair short a few weeks ago because it was falling out so fast that it started to scare me and it was more obvious when it was long. it looks better now but is still falling out every time i touch my head AAAAHHHHH. My nails are getting thin and breaking too. I'm taking my biotin so... I'm at a loss. If you get any good answers post them for me!
