By me, we have a Pick N Save with a great salad bar... I always do a small amount of lettuce, spinach, and maybe some mushrooms, shredded carrots, peppers, and tomatoes or cucumbers... Ours has sliced chicken breast on the bar, so I add in what I think is about an ounce or two, and then added shredded cheese... I try to make it so that I am getting apx. 20g of protein, and then add the veggies. I haven't had a problem with fresh veggies at all, I chew them up real well. I think I can eat a "fair" amount, cause the lettuce, shredded carrots, etc... aren't real heavy, the other vegetables I add just a "taste" of.
Holy cow do I have a gross salad story. First off I eat a small bowl at home almost every day, just lettuce, onions , cheese, croutons and oil and vinegar. Well today I was in a rush {i know i know dont say it lol} And I got a McDonalds salad w/ grilled chicken and i took 2 bites of the chicken and 2 bites of the salad and it got totally stuck. I decided to drive home, thought it would pass, was I wrong. I drove all the way home puking into the McDonalds bag the whole way. So I say try it at home first and dont rush!!! But seriously, normally I have no problem at all.

I love the Baby Spinach Grilled Chicken salad from Subway, it's Atkins approved so it's high in protein. They put hard boiled eggs, bacon, cheese, almonds and a light honey mustard dressing. It's so good. You can also buy the packs of baby spinach in the store and use to make salads instead of iceberg lettuce. It's much healthier.
