I enjoy a couple drinks on Sat night when I go sing Karaoke. I tried wine...and it did nothing but give me a headache...then i tried scotch and water...nothing..then bacardi and water..still did nothing. Last night I tried Yukon and water and not even a slight buzz..and of course no barfing or feeling sick either. What could be going on??? Any thoughts?? and yes I know Im not sposed to drink.

Deb that is so bizarre! I hope you figure it out! I miss drinking and I've been too scared to have more than an ounce the two times I've done it!

Deb~ Hmm..your surgeon says not to drink? I was released to diet soft drinks AND alcohol at 6 weeks. I am not sure why it is not affecting you. We were told at our seminar that one drink USUALLY hits you like 3 after RNY. It is, however, added calories that you don't need. If it no longer gives you a buzz, then I would avoid it and just have diet soda or water. Jenn 264.8/200.2/145

My surgeon doesn't put any restrictions on drinking alcohol or not. I have only had 1/2 glass wine, and did get buzzed just from that

My surgeon said no soda, but alcohol was ok...he just suggested that I drink at home the first time to know how it will affect me....I gotta admit, I am a much cheaper date now...2 drinks and I am feeling it. I tend to drink KetleOne and Tonic.

I had a glass of wine last weekend and another last night and they didnt touch me at all- it took a LONG time to finish, maybe that had something to do with it??? I was never a big drinker so I really expected to feel it, but nothing... Hard telling why, nothing else has been the same, guess this wont be either! Rebecca

I have had Nyquil and that put me out, but since then I have also had on many occasions a 1/2 glass of wine and I feel it almost instantly, it does not seem to last too long. I don't drive though, I can certainly feel it long enough.

I was told no alcohol for 1 year.... I could always take it or leave it, so that doesn't bother me. HOWEVER, I have taken NyQuil, and that knocks me out within 30 minutes, so I'm kind of chicken to try a real drink! Maybe I'll try a glass of wine in the near future!

I drink wine once in awhile, plus I had at least 1 glass/day during my dad's shivah. 1 glass and I'm dancing on the table, babbling like an idiot drunk. I usually just take 1/2 glass and drink VERY VERY slowly. I haven't tried beer or mixed drinks yet. I'm not much of a drinker unless it's in a group setting, which isn't very often. If you don't get the fun drunk part, I'd just skip the whole thing entirely. It's not worth the calories. If, however, you find a drink that takes you to that fun happy stupid drunk place, have fun and drink up! Sheryl 292/223/160
