Carb Addicts
A couple of days ago in a post that Dennis wrote, I talked about my WOE, which is carb addicts. Several of you asked for info, but unfortunately, that night, my computer died. I am now back on line with a new computer and ready to spill it!
I am following the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet by Rachael and Richard Heller. (You can pick up their books on ebay or amazon; The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet or the Carbohydrate Addicts lifespan program.)
I eat 3 meals a day. The first two meals are called complentary meals and they consist of protein or protein and low carb veggies( there is a list in the books). The third meal is called my reward meal and I eat it for dinner. It consists of 1/3 protein, 1/3 low carb veggies and 1/3 carb of my choosing (usually dessert). Now my carb portion is usually smaller than 1/3, but I start my meal with a big glass of milk, so it balances out.
There are just a few rules. No RM (reward meal) foods outside of your RM. Eat your RM w/in 1 hour, not a problem for us.
There are lists of acceptable foods in the books.
I love this WOE, because it allows me to have my cake and eat it too!
Hope this helps. I am down 10.9 pounds since 1/21/06 (that is 15 days, that is .72 pounds per day)!
