HELP!!!!!
It's a coating that will keep the pill from dissolving in your stomach so that in dissolves and gets absorbed in your intestines instead. Check the label, it'll tell you if it's enteric coated or look at the pill -- if it has a really shiny outer layer, it might be enteric coated. I don't think the coating made it get stuck though, I think it was the size, but you never know!
BTW, LOVE the name, rachel rachel bo'bachel!
Vi,
I'm glad you're feeling better. Thank you so much for signing my dad's legacy book. It means a lot to me.
So I've never heard of anyone taking a Vitamin E pill. Does your surgeon recommend that? What is it that they do? Right now I'm taking 2 theragram M's/day, 3 300 mg cal citrate pills+D/day, 150 mg elemental iron/day, 500 mcg b12 (not sublingual), and a B complex at night cause I read that they help with adreanal functions and can help regulate moods. It's got a little b12, but also b2, b6, and a bunch of other B vitamins. I always worry with the bypass part of the operation that I'm not getting enough vitamins.

Hi hon, I was happy to do it. I wish there was more I could do for you right now. How are you holding up? Please don't hesitate to email me if you just need to vent: [email protected]
The pill I took wasn't vitamin E, it was something called "SAM-E" which is supposed to help the crazy mood swings. I read that they actually use it in Europe to treat depression. I used it in smaller doses prior to my surgery to help with PMS and I thought it would help NOW with all the crazy POST OP mood swings that I have. It's also good for your liver and your joints, so I figured it couldn't help! I'm kind of afraid to use it now, even if I split it, because of all the trauma of having it stuck for a day.

Hi Sheryl,
My doctor prescribed E-400 by Twinlab. There so big I can't swallow them. They make me throw up. My doctor gave me a whole list to take, including prescription iron (Ferrotrinsic).
I think you should worry that you're not getting enough vitamins. I'm concerned that you might not be absorbing your B12 if it isn't sublingual. I was told that we don't absorb B12 very well except sublingually and by injection. Can you ask your surgeon?
I didn't know you had a legacy book in honor of your father, Sheryl. I'll go to your profile and see if I can find it there. I'll be honored to sign in.
Hugs,
Cheryl
