Doctor up that protien, Make it into a fruit smoothie. I use the vanilla or bannana then added strawberrys, blueberrys, peaches or whatever sounds good blend it for a few minutes with 2-3 ice cubes and you cannot taste the powder. If you like chocolate add some peanut butter or bannanas with a couple cubes of Ice. if you want it sweeter add some splenda or sweetener. I hope that helps, Deb 392/308/225

My doctor's office recommended Biotin and Zinc supplements, and I take them daily. I got them at the vitamin shoppe (their brand) and they are tiny capsules that are very easy to swallow! I also bought a vitamin shoppe conditioner that's for thinning hair and so far my hair looks ok! I thought it was getting thin, but it looks ok now and it hasn't been falling out so far. If you don't have a vitamin shoppe near you, you can go on the web: www.vitaminshoppe.com

Hi Melissa, Both responses are right on the money. I also take Biotin and Zinc and I do the protein drinks (Unjury makes a great one). I also doctor them up with a banana in the chocolate or a few frozen strawberries. Since then I have not had a problem getting in my protein. I still lost hair but at least new growth is coming in. Hi Melissa! Use Nioxin shampoo. I got mine at a Super Wal-Mart in the beauty shop. You can also call a beauty supply to see if they have it. It's especially for people that are experiencing hair loss due to surgery or medical conditions. It's about $16 a bottle but worth it. Sheryl

BIOTIN, BIOTIN, BIOTIN ... 1.500mcg 3 TIMES A DAY ... WHEN YOU HAIR STOPS FALLING OUT, THEN CUT BACK TO 2 &, THEN 1 A DAY, WHICH IS THE DOSE TO TAKE WHEN EVERYTHING IS IN BALANCE, MS MELISSA. YOU MAY NEED TO CUT YOUR HAIR AS WELL ... LONGER HAIR IS HARDER TO KEEP AFTER SURGERY THAN SHORTER BECAUSE THE BODY "FEEDS" YOUR SKIN, HAIR & NAILS LAST AFTER IT MAKES SURE ALL THE ORGANS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN LIFE ARE "FED". SO, THE SHORTER YOUR HAIR, THE LESS IT HAS TO FEED WITH WHATEVER PROTEIN & NUTRIENTS ARE LEFT OVER, SO TO SPEAK. I CUT MINE REAL SHORT BEFORE SURGERY & BEGAN THE BIOTIN A MONTH PRE-OP. IT WORKED. GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

I completely understand about the protein, I also do not like any of them. But I did finally found one at GNC called AnyWhey protein which has about 17g per scoop. It's almost tasteless, say's "virtually tasteless" on the label. I mix it into about 4 oz of milk with splenda and peanut butter and I can tolerate that because there isn't a strong taste at all. I really only taste the peanut butter and milk. You can mix it into anything it says even into mashed potatoes! Which I've tried and it's not bad. You can buy it at GNC or online, I've found the 2.7lb jug for 22.50. I don't know if you've already tried this, but if you haven't give it a shot. As a matter of fact, if you'd like I could send you a little baggie of it so you can try it. Let me know, because I have definately been there with the protein. The advice given as far as biotin is great as well for hair loss, I've started taking it and my hair loss has slowed considerably. Angela
