FESS UP, WHAT DO WE CHEAT ON?
Let's see, I had a bite of a cookie dh was eating. It didn't taste that good. I had 1/2 a roll with butter on it a few days ago. Sometimes I take sips of dh's pop. Around Christmas time I was cheating every day, with a little something here and there, but lately, I think I do great. Oh, dh found these no sugar added sundae cones. They had 3 g of sugar and 3 g of protein, so I ripped open the box and had one. Later, I checked out the rest of the stuff, 220 calories, 13 g of fat, 25 g carbs! So, I gave the kids each one the next night. Hubby and I each had one a few nights later. I have one left and it's sounding so good right now. But, I've had over 800 cals today and there's no way I'm going to add all that on top.

Hi Everyone! I have been the lurker of lurkers, sometimes just afraid to read posts cause it might say something I don't want to hear.
The truth is I can actually say "I am doing great"! I haven't wanted sugar, (that's a shocker), some of the things you say you cheat with are things I eat all the time, never once felt I was cheating. Haven't tried popcorn, but had a few cheese-its.
I always it my protein, so the rest of the stuff just doesn't add up to much. I have had bread and butter a number of times, not a lot, but at least 7 or 8 and I never once felt guilty. I actually started out eating solids with 1/2 grilled cheese sandwiches.
Now, and I don't know if this is good or bad, but food just ticks me off, can't have much good, so why bother, just drink UNJURY and eat SouthBeach diet bars, with a little cup of some kind of soup or some beans.
I am losing like crazy and I don't think a day has gone by without me eating at least 1000 calories. Haven't tried soda yet, was really out there w/diet coke before surgery, going to try one soon.
Sometimes I really need a drink, and I haven't had one for 2 or 3 years (diabetes). But you all are making me thirsty!!
Good luck to everyone and keep up the great work, and for goodness sakes don't be so hard on yourselves.
I have the same problem as Deb, every desk has M&M's, hershey's kisses, gummy bears, and I do have 2-4 PB M&M's over a day 1-2 x a week . I started keeping peanuts and pretzles on mine, people love it. I also keep the 1lb bags of peppered jerky from Wal-Mart in my desk so I can munch when I get hungry. I've found it's the only thing I can get "full" on and not feel miserable. I'm worried that the jerky does have 6g sugar per serving but it also has 12g protien. I have also found that truffles coated in cocoa not milk chocolate only have 12g sugar for 4 pieces so 1 piece only has 3g sugar.
I have popcorn whenever I want it. I figure as long as I've got my protien in it's ok. I haven't really tried large amounts of sugar yet and I want to soo bad, but I'm very scared of dumping. I just keep almost all sugary things out of my house. My 6yr old daughter is a little overweight so missing the cookies isn't hurting my family any Now my hubby on the other hand; he loves sweets and since he has a good metabolism he can eat anything. He just gains 20lbs and when he gets to the 20lb mark he says he's going to lose it and he does . If only my body worked like that
I'd say my biggest cheat is chinese food. I love it and I have a feeling that's a major factor in the 50lb weight gain in the 2yrs before surgery. I would get a full dinner to go and eat it all for lunch. Now I get a childrens meal at Happy Panda with general tso's, lo-mein noodles and 1 potsticker for lunch once a week, eat a 3-4 pieces of the general's and a bite each of noodles and the potsticker then bring it home to my 13yr old son for dinner. Since he's at that "never gain a pound because I grew a foot in the last year" stage he gets to eat anything he wants too.
I know I'm not eating enough but I'm just not really that hungry.
