FESS UP, WHAT DO WE CHEAT ON?
My doc read me the riot act when I told her I was eating popcorn. She said I shouldn't be putting anything in my mouth that didn't have nutritional value. I try but I guess I'm just bad to the bone!! I have been eating dry roasted edamame beans lately. They have 14 g of protein in a 1/4 cup serving. A better choice but not just not the same
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT DESSERTS OR SWEET TREATS, HAVE YOU TRIED RUSSELL STOVER'S SUGAR-FREE CANDIES? THEY HAVE A BAG WITH TOFFEE SQUARES (NICK'S FAV), MINT PATTIES, PECAN DELIGHTS (MY FAV) & PEANUT BUTTER CUPS. YOU CAN GET THEM AT WAL*MART (BTW, WAL*MART HAS THE BIGGEST SELECTION OF GOOD-TASTING S-F CANDY IN THE CANDY SECTION - NOT THE DIET FOOD SECTION - &, I DON'T GET THE RUNS FROM THEM). PUT 1 OR 2 PIECES IN YOUR PURSE OR POCKET WHEN YOU ARE GOING OUT TO EAT & HAVE THAT INSTEAD OF A SURGAR-FILLED DESSERT.
FOR 3 PIECES (COULDN'T EAT 3 IF I HAD TO), THE SUGAR CARBS ARE ZERO ALTHOUGH THE SUGAR ALCOHOL IS 18 GRAMS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO CANNOT TOLERATE SA. MOST CAN & THAT ALLOWS FOR A TREAT EVERY NOW & THEN WITHOUT JACKIN' YOUR GLUCOSE TO THE CEILING. CALORIES ARE 170 & FAT IS 12 GRAMS (3 PIECES), SO NOT BAD IF YOU EAT 1 PIECE ... THE TOFFEE & PECAN DELIGHTS ARE SWEET & FILLING ENOUGH THAT YOU DON'T REALLY WANT MORE THAN 1 PIECE.

I don't cheat. I do have dessert every night though. The way of life ( carb addicts) I am following allows me to eat low carb for 2 meals then, at my 3rd meal I eat 1/3 protein, 1/3 low carb veggie and 1/3 carbs. Now my 1/3 carb portion works out to be more like 1/5, because I save the carb for last and rarely finish what ever it may be. Things I chose for my carb portion are fruit, 2-3 hershey kisses. Last night I had a small portion of a restaraunt dessert. I usually start this meal with a 10-12 oz glass of ice cold skim milk. I have lost 9.1 pounds since I started eating this way 12 days ago. I get to have my cake (yep, cake if I want it, don't dump!) and eat it too!

I'm hardly losing any weight... Very, very slow... A total of 38 lbs in three months... Maybe one lb a week, maybe 3 every couple of weeks... Would you like to share? I mess with carbs: rice (I don't dump), or some pita bread, or some corn tortilla... Maybe a piece of french bread... But I was eating three meals a day, plus a couple of snaks. I'm trying starting today to skip the snaks. How much do you exercise, and what do you eat?
EVERYONE IS A BIT DIFFERENT SO OUR WEIGHT LOSSES WON'T BE THE SAME EITHER. THOSE ARE 38 #s THAT ARE GONE FOREVER & THAT IS WONDERFUL, MS OLGA!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHITE CARBS ARE GOING TO SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS A BIT JUST BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY DO IN YOUR BLOODSTREAM WITH YOUR GLUCOSE & IN YOUR LIVER AS FAR AS HOW SUGAR IS USED (WHITE CARBS TURN TO SUGAR IN YOUR BODY). NO ONE CAN GO ALL THEIR LIFE WITHOUT EVER EATING WHITE CARBS, SO THE TRICK IS LIMITING THEM & MAKING SURE THAT YOU HAVE EATEN EVERYTHING ELSE YOU MUST HAVE FOR GOOD HEALTH FIRST. IT'S HARD BUT DOABLE.
MY NUTRITIONIST SAID THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM IS WATER (FLUIDS) ... THEN AS FAR AS FOOD, ONE SHOULD EAT PROTEIN, DAIRY, GREEN VEGES, FRUITS, WHOLE GRAINS (in that order of importance) ... & THEN ONLY THE SMALLEST AMOUNTS OF "WHITE CARBS" IF YOU CAN TOLERATE THEM &, ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT GONE OVER YOUR DAY'S CALORIE LIMIT.
KEEPING TRACK OF FLUIDS, CARBS, FATS & PROTEINS IS A GOOD IDEA BUT TAKES A LOT OF TIME. STILL, WE ALL TEND TO EAT MORE OF WHAT WE LIKE THAN WE REALIZE SO WRITING EVERYTHING DOWN, USING A SPREADSHEET OR USING AN ONLINE FOOD TRACKING SITE REALLY HELPS REMIND US WHAT'S GONE IN OUR MOUTHS.
USUALLY, IF YOU EAT ALL THE REST OF THE ITEMS LISTED FIRST, YOU ARE FULL & DON'T WANT WHITE CARBS.
