FESS UP, WHAT DO WE CHEAT ON?
well............just between you and me. shhhhhh I eat popcorn a few times a week. I want to stop that because there is no nutritional value in that. If I go to the movies I can't resist the popcorn with butter and that is really bad I also have a drink now and then. Last night it was sugar free hot cocoa with some pepermint schnaps. Now you know my dirty little secret
ok...fess up and did it do you good...I am dying for some popcorn, but our doctor says no no...it is a forbidden food, as it is hard to digest and can get into the stoma? or something...drinking...boy would I love a glass of red merlot...but not yet...cookies are my downfall......just between you and me...
I know the same thing happened to me. Popcorn was the only thing I could eat with no trouble at all. These days I switched to dry roasted edamame beans they have 14g of protein in 1/4 cup. There lightly salted and crunchy. They helped me kick the habit although I'm still going to have popcorn at the movies. Thankfully I don't go to that many movies!
Edamame beans are whole green soy beans. You can find them in most health food stores. They come fresh or frozen or you can buy them in bags dry roasted and salted. They taste like soy nuts. Have you tried soy nuts before? Those are pretty good too. Edamame beans are really good for you. They are 100% natural, contain 8 essential amino acids. No cholesterol and only 2 grams of net carbs per serving! Give them a try.
THANK YOU FOR THE INFO, MS KAREN. NO, I HAVEN'T TRIED SOY NUTS BUT, I HAVE BOTH LISTED ON MY SHOPPING LIST. THERE'S A HEALTH FOOD STORE REAL CLOSE BY. I SNACK ON REGULAR NUTS (I DO BEST WITH PEANUTS), BUT THE OIL SOMETIMES MAKES MY POUCH GROUCHY. I LOVE SALTY THINGS SO I'M GONNA GIVE THEM BOTH A TRY.
GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK
I just wanted to add in that you can also get Edamame (soy beans) at CostCo if you have one and have a card. You can get a big bag of them in the freezer section for around $5. Just thaw and eat, you don't even have to cook these. Yummy!! I love them. I have them with my California Rolls almost everyday!
