I see some of you mention information from your nutritionists- do you still see them or have contact with them? The only time I saw one was at the consultation with my surgeon back in August! I have no information from them other than what was put in a guidebook we were given at the preop meeting. I suppose I could call one of them, but I wouldnt have a clue how to reach them, I'd have to call my surgeon's office and track them down that way, I guess... Rebecca

I'm with you, the only NUT I saw was pre-op and she was useless (kept trying to sell her shakes). I never saw one post-op and I just have my guide book as well.

Put me in that same class. I saw someone at the first appointment and that is it. I would have loved some more information that fit with the timing of my surgery. Ann

I love the program I went thru. We had to visit the Nut at least twice pre-op and once post op. But you can see her every visit for no extra charge. and she puts out a little pamplet newspaper every month and emails it to you. They have 2 support group meeting a month and she runs at least one of them so if you have questions, she is there. She is also great about getting back to you on e-mail or phone. They are extremly dedicated in making sure you have all the education you need to succeed. Deb 392/308/225

Rebecca, I could not see the surgeon until, I saw the nutritionalist, and the doctor at the nutritioanlist office, had all kinds of test done, had lost 10% of my weight and the doctor referred me to the surgeon. I still see the nutritionalist every 3 months I have blood test through them to check for my vitamin levels and other routine levels. We also have a weekly support group of people thinking about the surgery, those getting ready and people at all levels of post surgery up to two years out. It is really good to hear from people at all different stages and the problems they go through and the support along the way. They are also very good at guiding you through the different levels of food, and letting us know how much protein we should be getting in, and when you can add salads, etc. If you are having difficulity with certain foods they have suggestions. I really like my nutritionalist and find her very supportative. I am glad I have this kind of support. Mary L
