Feel like I have an eating disorder!

I am having the worst time with frothing or foaming or whatever it's called. For the past couple of weeks I have been having a hard time keeping food down. After I eat that thick mucas starts building up and I end up throwing up to clear it out. I tried drinking warm tea and it helped for a day or 2 than back to the froth. All I know is it is making me feel like i'm bulemic or something and it is very annoying. Any suggestions? I called my surgen and they said it will eventually go away, but i'm really getting tired of throwing up! HELP PLEASE! Marcey 255/203/150

Marcey, Me too. I throw up so much. For the last couple of days though I have been eating really light cause I am so tired of puking and them my pouch gets sore so I been doing green tea and food that is not to dense like soups to try to give my tummy a break. I hope you feel better soon. Nikki B 312/261.2/145

Hi Marcey! It's exactly what happens to me. EXACTLY! I go throw up and then feel much better. I realized though that it happens because I eat too fast. When I'm with friends talking and having a good time, those 1hour dinners with friends I normally do ok. It also happens with certain foods. Try taking a bite a very very small bite and wait a minute, make your meals last al least 1/2 an hour. This happens when I gobble up all my food in 3 minutes.

Yep, I've had the same problem for about 2 months now. I avoid everything that does this to me and I have to eat VERY SLOW. Like Celia, I know that if I'm with friends and talking, sometimes I eat too fast, so I have to be VERY CAREFUL. But for now all I eat are protein shakes, crackers (with peanut butter, sugar free jelly or cream cheese), cheese, some fruit and some veggies. My menu is pretty limited and a month out I could eat just about anything. Go figure! Guess we have to wait for this to pass. I puke at least 4 times a week because of this. Hang in there! Vi

OMG! the same exact thing has been happening to me too, I'm so sick of kissing the commode, I could just die!!!! That frothy feeling you get is just disgusting, I hate it!!! I'm back on the soups too, most of the time I dont eat at all just drink, I've never tried the protein shakes, I'm not sure what they taste like and I dont want to waste any $$$, I did try the protein drink from Odwalla, that was pretty darn good.... Since were all experiencing the same thing, perhaps its just something that goes along with the surgery, I guess this too will pass....

Marcey, I really thought the tea would help longer than a few days--I just saw my surgeon today for my 3 month check-up. I asked about this and he said that yes, it's normal but it's a sign of eating too fast and it's my body beginning to lubricate my esophugus specifically to allow throwing up. S-L-O-W down that eating and it will get better!!!!! Laura 286/227/170
