medic alert bracelet
Does anyone wear a medic alert bracelet from the surgery? I ordered one after reading somewhere how we cant have a blind NG tube and definitly no NSAIDS I know most of us have extra medical problems, I have had weird things go on with me, so I feel it's a good idea. Got mine free by joining the medic alert association[medicalert.org],only $35, so I'm curious, does anyone else have one?

I never got one, but I've been tempted to make one since I got into the crystal jewelry beading when I was home after surgery and saw these which I thought were gorgeous!!

I bought a very low cost stainless steel necklace, engraved simply with my name, followed by the words "gastric bypass" and "allergic PCN" because I'm allergic to penicillin. My surgeon's office staff said that's all I would need to put on there. Of course, I took it off a couple of weeks ago for a "dress up" event and keep forgetting to put it back on; this is a good reminder for me.

I bought mine on eBay for $12.00 including shipping. It's stainless steel. It's not fancy, but it does the job. I did a search in eBay for medical ID bracelets and they had several including gastric bypass surgery.
Mine says: GASTRIC BYPASS
NO NG TUBE
WITHOUT SCOPE
This will do until I decide to spend more money on one I really want. I felt it was necessary to get one right away, though. I still want to put no NSAIDS and no time-release meds on it.
