Okay. Weird question, but... December 30th I got my period. Well 16 days later on January 14th I started spotting and haven't stopped. Today I am bleeding lightly with very mild cramps and bloating. Does this mean I have my period?? 16 days after my last one?? Anyone have this problem?? Mine always comes like clockwork and it isn't due until the 25th. Will I bleed all month?? Please HELP!!! Erin

Hey Erin, Mine has been weird for the past couple of months and I too am like clockwork. I am on the nuva ring and was getting my period with the ring still in so I called my GYN and she told me after major surgery it can take several months for our body to adjust. Hope it gets better. Hugs Marcey

Hi Marcey, Thanks for the info. I have had 3 periods since surgery and everyone was normal and on the correct day. Now this one is way early. I hope it's my period and not one of those things where you bleed all month long. Thanks Again! Erin

That happened to me to Erin, I was even lactating and I know I was not preggers. Anywho, The lactation is gone now and my cycle is regular again. I think its from our body's being in shock because of the rapid weight loss

Mine has been screwed up too and I am on birth control... It is completely normal when you go thru physical (surgery) or mental stress that your periods get screwy.... AND also with any signficant weight change (loss or gain) particularly in a short amount of time, that is screws it up as well. Soooo, you're normal!

I read that our fat cells store a lot of estrogen and as we lose weight rapidly alot of estrogen is coming out as well which makes our periods go wacko...

I'm on depo shot and I haven't had a period since before my daughter was born in 1999 (it's the only reason I keep using it). Scared the heck out of me to get one a couple of weeks after surgery. When I called the surgeon he said it was normal to have out of whack (not his exaxt words menstrual cycle after a major surgery.
