Wow my surgery was 13 weeks ago today. How time flys when you are LIVING and learning and laughing and loving every minute of it. The opportunity to have this surgery was a huge blessing, every day that I eat right, drink my water, take my vitamins and get a little exercise in, is a blessing, every time I step on the scale - WOW blessing!!! I spent so many years dedicated to food, bad food choices, too much food, too much indulgence, and now I've learned so many things about foods, about myself, about limits and about making choices. I still have a lot to learn and this is a long road but I thank God every day that he put me on it! I know I veer towards the sidewalk once in a while but thankfully, always quickly find my way back to the middle! I've gone from a 30/32 in jeans to a 24, from a 5X and 4X in scrubs to 2X's, am able to buy bras in a store now rather than order them online, my shoes are loose on my feet now rather than tight at the end of the day, I have ankles again, and the lump of fat on the back of my neck is gone..................the list is long already, it's going to get longer as the months go by. I was 289.5 on the morning of surgery and this morning I'm 234! I still have 90 lbs to go but already feel like a million bucks! The best part is - the weight loss will continue - as compared to previous weight loss times in my life, I would lose some, feel good and then give up the diet attempt and gain it back. It's awesome to take clothes out of my closet that are now way too big for me and give them away - knowing I WILL never need them again. And it's strange to buy something new and know that soon it will be too big on me. I know that without this surgery I would not be where I am right now. I am also very thankful for this site and all the wonderful people on here daily sharing and helping and listening and caring. Have a wonderful day everyone!!! Much love, Carol V

Carol, these are tremendous milestones for you - how exciting! People who are naturally slender, would never understand what it means to be required to shop from a catalog, would they? How wonderful for you that your body on the outside is beginning to match the kind of person you have always been on the inside. To fit into the world in which you live, is a wonderful thing. 234 - that's fabulous! Warmest congratulations and wishes for your continued health and success! Sheryl

It's so amazing to think that such a short time has passed. I'm 14 weeks out and it feels like a lifetime. So much has changed, it's hard to wrap my mind around all of them. Congratulations on your weight loss and on the sure knowledge that it will continue. Cheryl

Carol, congradulations, I had my surgery two days before you. I started at 306 was 275 the day of surgery and am down to 216. I have gone from a 3x to a 16/18, and was so excited I could buy an inexpensive bra and have several options, instead of the $29 - $30 ones. Isn't it wonderful. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Mary L
