I've been cleared by my doc to eat anything but in the booklet I got from him before leaving the hospital it said none of those..well my question is when did you get to start eatting carbs..? I just recently started tolerating bread, if I chew it very carefully. Pasta still makes me most of the time. Spaghetti noodles in particular are horrible for me. I tolerate rice pretty well in small amounts. HTH Carol

I had my surgery halloween and i have been eating carbs for a while, but very very little since i know this is one of my problems. Being Italian all i used to eat was pasta and bread. I try to avoid when i can. Melba toast is great, i put a little bit of butter on one or two and it makes the craving for bread go away for me. I also have farina once in a while. I have not had any pasta, i make a sauce once a week and make pasta for the family and i steam string beans and put them in my plate and cover with sauce and that works for me. I also have not touched rice. I have also had whole wheat toast, usually just half a slice. I can eat pizza about 1/4 to 1/2 a slice thin crusted. Hope this helps. If you have questions you should talk to your nutrionist or surgeon though. They all have their own diets they like you to follow. Have a great day! LisaMarie
