=====================================
Rapid gastric emptying, or dumping syndrome, occurs when the contents of your stomach empty too quickly into your small intestine. It is most common in people who have had certain types of stomach surgery, such as for obesity and ulcers.
Signs and symptoms often start as soon as 30 minutes after eating. Initially, partially digested food may rapidly draw excess fluid from your bloodstream into your intestine. This causes cramping and diarrhea and can also cause low blood pressure, resulting in lightheadedness and a rapid heartbeat. Later, you may experience symptoms of low blood sugar due to a rapid increase in blood sugar, which causes your body to release too much insulin.
Signs and symptoms of dumping syndrome include:
* Nausea
* Abdominal pain or cramps
* Diarrhea
* Feeling flushed
* Sweating
* Dizziness or lightheadedness
* Rapid heartbeat
* Weakness
Yeah it must be white flour stuff. I can eat whole wheat crackers with no problem. I haven't tried pasta or rice, but if I do it will be whole wheat or brown.
We who dump this way really have to figure out what our triggers are. It would be horrible to be out driving and get tired like this. I can barely keep my eyes open and my vision and coordination are awful.
