I'm goin' to DisneyWorld!

Well, the hotels and flights are booked, we're going to Disney next month. I'm at 239 right now, and my goal is to be at 225 by the time we go. I'm not working out all that hard right now since my son is home on winter break and childcare at the Y sucks. So I try to go to Curves when DH comes home from work and I do my Gazelle Power Plus. I quit the Y (they totally raised my rates) as of the end of Jan, but I'm going to use a hotel by curves for water aerobics and treadmills (15/month). I've decided I like Curves, so I'm joining full time now that my 2 week free trial is over. Went shopping today at Lane Bryant. They have 80% off clearance and I wanted new stuff for Disney. I spent $300!!!!! Ouch. I was a 28 in pants before surgery, and now I bought only 22's and 20's (I about died when I put on a pair of 20's and they zipped and buttoned). The saleslady told I should wear a long shirt because of my hanging sagging tummy. How embarassing (I wasn't wearing my Spanx today). In shirts I'm in a 22/24 in stretchy material, or a 26 in nonstretchy (it's these damned H cup boobs). Still not bad since I was in a 30/32 in stretchy shirts before surgery. I tried to find shorts and jean capris for Florida, but they only had size 24 and up and they were big. The ones I have here are all size 26 and 28 and huge on me. I'm not sure what to do about buying smaller ones for the trip. If I spend more $$ on clothes I will shrink out of, my DH will kill me. As it is I had to promise him he could go to the nudie bar on Thursday as a Thank you for all the clothes. I took my son to the movies today. We saw Zathura at the cheap theater. It was way too scary for him. I called ahead of time and asked if it was appropriate for a 4 yr old and they said yes. Liars. I had to hug him the whole time. I asked him if he wanted to leave, but he said no. Anyway he's in my lap and I realized in horror that I've been unconsiously munching on buttered movie theater popcorn!! And I must've had at least 5 cups worth! Ouch. I posted it on fitday and didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day but a grilled chix ceasar salad with lowfat balsamic vinagrette dressing and a protein drink since I was low on protein. I've got to give more thought to what I put in my mouth. Eating without realizing I'm eating is SCARY and something I would have done pre surgery. I haven't had lots of time to post, but I have been lurking now and again, and I wanted to say to everyone who's posted before/after pics that you all look great. I'm glad you all had a good holiday. Mine was more fattening than I would have liked, but I was at someone elses house and couldn't tell her what to cook for me. She did use Splenda instead of sugar for some things. Also, I threw up for the first time since surgery. I had 2 sugar cookies made with splenda. As soon as I ate them I knew they were coming back up. I got a pain in my chest, the foamies, and then 30 seconds later, the cookies are in the toilet. Why Splenda cookies made me puke, when birthday cake didn't I'll never know. Very strange indeed. If I don't get a chance to post, hope you all have a great new year! Sheryl 292/239/160

Hi Sheryl!!! Me and you have A LOT in common!! I to am going to Florida. Feb. 4th thru the 11th. My grandfather has a home in Sarasota, Fl. It is on the gulf coast. I went last year and it is so nice. I don't have my tickets yet, not for another 2 or 3 weeks. But yesturday I went shopping for stuff. I went to DOTS. VERY CHEAP and VERY TRENDY!!! I GOT INTO 18 JEANS!!! AND 14 SHIRTS!!! So I got 2 pairs of fitted cargo jean shorts ( 18's ), 2 pairs of jeans ( 18's ), a jean skirt ( 18 ) 2 tank tops ( 14's ) and tank dress ( 16) and a new bra ( 38 D from a 42 DD ) all for 54 bucks. There clearance is buy 2 get one free and i splurged on one pair of jeans at full price...lol. So think of me in florida and I will think of you!! I know you will get down to the 220's. I am hoping the same for myself. I am now 235 and I wanna be 220. I have to shop for a bathing suit when i get there. I start tanning next week!!! SEE YAH HUNNIE!! Erin P.S. I joined a place called slim n tone ( just like curves ) I went back for the 1st time in 2 months last monday, haven't gone back since. I have no motivation!!! 304/292/235/130

I don't think there's a Dots here, but I'm going to check. I ordered new bras a few weeks back from LaneBryant.com and found a bathing suit on clearance for $25 in a size 20. I figured I would eventually be small enough to fit into it. Well it fits now, and it's actually really cute, so I'm all set in that dept. My MIL gave me the UGLIEST shirt (it has like 10 different kinds of animal prints on it and it's a crepe material) for my birthday and since it's and extra long tunic length I figured it would make a great cover up for the pool. Don't get me wrong....I love animal print, but I like CUTE animal print, and I usually try to keep it to 1 animal at a time. I like trendy stuff and she's more classic lands end type, so I think she just picks the shirts she hates the most and that's what I get for presents. I like them about 50% of the time. But I digress.....I'm completely off subject. Anyway, I hope you have as much fun as Disney as I'm going to have. I'll be thinking about you while I'm ridin' the rides! Sheryl

That's so exciting! I am thinking about driving up to Disney World for 2 nights over New Year's. I haven't been since my college band played there over 10 years ago, but now that I live in Florida I would love to go again. Have you been there before? The weather down here has been terrific this winter and I'm sure you'll have a great time. I was reading some old posts about Disney on this site and the one thing most people said was to bring your own water. Apparently the water fountain's water tastes horrible and some people spent well over a hundred bucks during their stay on water alone! I also plan to pack a few small snacks that will be fine non-refrigerated. Have fun! Brenda

I hope you have fun if you go! My husband bought the disney meal plan for us, so we get 3 squares and 1 snack per day. They all come with drinks I think. But I'll probably bring in a 1 liter everyday just in case. I hate nasty tasting water. Sheryl

Gosh I hope you guys have fun at Disneyworld! I'm near Disneyland and haven't been able to get on the rides for years. I've told my husband that when I reach my personal goal of 170 lbs, I would like nothing more than to fly (and be able to fit in the seats!) to Florida and go to Disneyworld where all my fears of getting tired and not being able to fit on the rides will be gone forever! It's something I'm really looking forward to and can't wait! Angela 350/329/290/170

My husbands a big guy. 6'2" and about 320. He went on a website for "big" people and they have posts about what rides are a tight squeeze for bigger people. He says that I'll be fine on everything, but he'll need to ride in the front cars on some rides (I didn't know this, but the front cars are bigger than the rest on most rides). We'll be doing mostly stuff that a 4 yr old will enjoy, but I think we'll take turns on some coasters. I haven't been on a coaster since the last time I was at Disney (about 5 yrs ago before my son was born and I weighed 160). Space mountain rocks. I can't wait.... Sheryl

You are going to have so much fun Sheryl. We went this past Feb. Our son was 4 and he had a blast. We also have 5 & 9 year old girls - it was the time of their lives. My husband is 6'2" and 300 lbs. He dieted his way down to 280 right before we went, for fear of not fitting on the rides. I was much more round than him and we all fit just fine. Oh, and Disney makes it so easy if you guys want to take turns on the rides your son can't ride. One of you waits at the entrance with the kid while the other rides and when it's your turn, you either get in the fast pass line or go straight through the back. I wish I was going again... When we went, my ins. co. had just received all my info (I thought) and I was waiting to hear if I was approved or not. What a year this has been... Anyway, have fun!! Marcia
