Hi Debbie Weight at surgery was 285...Weight now is 246.8....water at least 64 ounces a day...Exercise yes, med/light....protein....at least 50....trying for more, sometimes yes, sometimes no...hard to tell with the holidays...now back on Fitday.com better....to track...Do you eat carbs...very little...do you cheat, a bit over the holidays, but heck not like the old days....do you eat things you should not...the only thing that I have cheated with is sweets...to see how I tolerate...and I had a few bites of prime rib...which I chewed like mush...just to see how it went down...no problem...The surgery is the main thing, and wanting this to work...the support groups from this site, friends and family...other then that...really no problem...like the way I am fitting into clothes and how much more agile I am ...my dear wife has been the biggest help also... Dennis

What do you think has helped you lose the weight other then the surgery? I taste now rather than overeating.......and once I taste I'm satisfied.
PS I've learned how to have control. I love the compliments I'm receiving, and I love how my clothes fit. The support I receive from this board has helped tremendously. I'm learning how to love exercise because I LOVE how my body feels and looks. It's becoming a passion (exercise) and I hope it stays with me............

IF so, moderately or heavy? heavy....1 hr water aerobics, 1 mile lap swim, 2 days/week weight training, curves 3/week, tony little gazelle power plus at least 20 mins/day. They seriously upped my Y membership fee, so I quit as of 1/31/06. After that it's just Curves, $15/month for the use of a hotel pool (too small for laps, but can do water aerobics and walking, plus use their treadmills/ellipticals), and my Gazelle.

IF so, moderately or heavy?I would say heavy for me, but not compared to other people at the gym. about 400 calories in an hour on the elliptical
Do you get in 70 or more grams of protein?rarely, I get about 40, I need to try harder to get in that 2nd protein drink in the evening.
Do you eat carbs?YES, I need to have that 2nd protein instead of this. I'm a snacker by nature.

What do you think has helped you lose the weight other then the surgery?exercise mostly. The stricture I had probably didn't hurt my weight loss, but it made me so pissed. Now that I'm fixed I realize I really missed food. I hope I'm not making up for it now.
