Weight at surgery? 261 (lost 12 on pre-op diet)
Weight now? 236 (25 in 8 weeks - do I get a prize?)
Do you drink 64 ounces of fluid a day? most days
Do you exercise? yes - 4 times a week
If so, moderately or heavy? 30 min. on my gazelle
Do you get in 70 or more grams of protein? I aim for 60
Do you eat carbs? Not bad ones - I get a lot of mine from beans, since I don't eat meat. I haven't eaten white bread, pasta, rice, etc.
Do you eat things you shouldnt? Over the holidays, I had one sugar free cookie each day for about 4 days (a small one). I don't like it when people talk about bad foods or cheating, etc...I mean, it's not like we can eat 3 pieces of cake a day (well, I can't - maybe 3 small bites). Most days I don't have anything that would be considered empty nutrition, like chips or snack foods, but I don't feel at all guilty about eating one sugar free something on occasion. I think that kind of mind-set would make me nutso.
What do you think has helped you lose the weight other then the surgery? Well, nothing apparently. I saw my nutritionist last week for an hour consult and she can't figure out why I'm losing so slow. She said it could be that I might have had a high-ish metabolism before, so my body is so shocked by the reduced food that it is in starvation mode. I was eating 400-600 calories a day, but she recommended I try more like 600-800 to see if that helps. It's been one week and it hasn't helped so far, but I'm not giving up. I'm going to start using some weights in my exercising to see if that makes a difference.
