Eleven Weeks Post-Op Today!
Fellow October Surgeries:
I am new to this Board, though I had my surgery on October 10th. I just recently found your Board. My name is Santina, and I have been married 43 years to my wonderful husband Jim. I have always had a weight problem, losing hundreds of pounds only to regain them. I have been reading your posts and some of you have lost more than me. I have lost 50# but many inches. After eight weeks of pureed food, I am now able to eat regular food. Saturday night, we went to a chinese restaurant and I ordered won ton soup with shrimp, chicken, and pork. After cutting it all up, I was able to enjoy a small portion of it. PTL. Yesterday, my daughter in law made Prime Rib, baked potatoes, and brssell sprouts, and I enjoyed them all in small portions, and didn't feel hungry. What a miracle. In addition, I am now able to walk 3 miles a day and still go swimming for an hour, when I could barely make it to the mailbox before. Would like to hear from others who had RNY about the same time, and hope to get to Know you all better.
Love In Recovery, Santina
Dear Fran:
Thank you for your welcome. I'll bet I have a few years on you too. I am 63 yrs old. Also have two beautiful grandchildren---Aidan,10, and Maya,7.
They are the joys of my life, and one of the reasons I decided to have this surgery. I want to be around to see them grow up. Congratulations on your success and 33 years of marriage. That's really something to be proud of in this day and age.
Love, Santina
Hi Santina,
I had surgery on 10/10/05 as well. I am doing well and I feel great now. I went through a spell of really bad buyers remorse. I have lost 53 pounds and it is amazing how well I feel and how much more self confidence I have. I just wish I would have done this sooner. I look forward to getting to know you.
