Any WOW moments recently?
I just wanted to make a thread where we can all celebrate the amazing things we have noticed since our surgeries!
What are your WOW MOMENTS???
For me:
- FINALLY last week I was able to button my winter coat. I hadn't been able to in over 2 years, had gotten it for Christmas 3 years ago and could barely button it then. And NOW I can wear a shirt, sweatshirt and still button it with it not being tight!
- Today I am able to wear a pair of overalls that I hadn't been able to wear in 3 years as well, and those too are loose!
- I don't have a single pair of pants that fit anymore... 2 pairs I could still get away with wearing, but I have to go and get a belt today
- When my fiance hugs me, I noticed the other day that his arms go a lot further around!
- Friday I got a t-shirt in a large (given it was a men's) when 2 months ago I would have gotten a 2XL and still would have been lucky if it wasn't too tight!
- Saw my surgeon Monday.... down 48 pounds now. I wish I would have taken measurements prior to surgery, cause I KNOW I have had significant loss in those areas as well.
So now YOU ALL share your WOW celebrations!!!
Great job, those are the things that are the most exciting aren't they!? Had my own wow moment today, left the 180's and entered the 170's, haven't seen that since...I don't know when! Also with clothes too, bought a MEDIUM pair of sweatpants, little tighter than I'm used to, but they fit! So congrats to us both!!
My wow moments

Wow! it must be nice to see such great results. I have lost more than most of us on the board and I do not see much change.
My ankles are ankles not cantalopes, shoes are looser.
Face is a little thinner.
Tops and bottoms fit better, but I still wear the same clothes.
Know real WOW moments except on the scale.

I bought a pair of size 20 jeans on Sunday and had to take them back because they were too big! I was able to get in a 18 and if I wanted them tight I could have gotten into a 16! I haven't worn jeans in years and the last pair I bought were a size 24! I wear a 2x now instead of a 3x. It is starting to feel like all the pain and worry over the last couple of weeks has made the surgery worth it!
I've had 2 recent wow moments.
The first was on Saturday night when my mom babysat my DH and I went to see King Kong at a theatre we'd never been to before and I realized after we got there that for the first time in years, I didn't even think ahead of time that I might not fit into the seats. We used to go to only certain theatres because my butt was too wide to fit.
The second was today when I stepped onto the scale and realized I now weigh the same as the day I got married. I lost weight after the wedding and got down to 160, and that's my plan again. Plus today I hit 50 lbs lost.

I had my surgery oct 26th 05 and have had a few wow moments already,
I can bend over and pick something up off the floor, which I haven't been able to do in a while
I can get my seat belt on in the car without going through all kinds of contorsions and without help
I can open the glove box in the car without holding on to something and pulling myself up, (I know this is minor but means something to me)
I went to the surgeon on the 15th of dec for follow up and had lost 66 pounds already..that was a big wow for me...I was so stoked. I can only weigh at the doctors office, I am too big still for a regular scale, so now I am on hold till I go back feb 15th
I've only lost like 33lbs so I haven't had many wow moments... I tried to wear some shoes that you strap at the ankle and they didn't fit, I had to give them away. I went form a size 20 jeans to a tight 18. I can walk on the treadmill for more than 30 mins also on the eliptical, when I could only do 5 mins...
My boyfriend says I have more of a waist. A guy who didn't know I had surgery said I looked much thinner. But some people haven't told me anything which makes me sad.
Here are my big WOW moments:
1. I was able to fit in an airplane, and fasten my seat belt. I have never been able to fasten my seatbelt, and I was too embarrased to tell anyone so I would just fake it. Thank God nothing ever happend.
2. I went to Universal and I got on all of the rides and I fit. I can't believe it. I would have had a panic attack before. In line I would have worried the entire time wondering if I was going to be able to fit into the seat.
3. I went shopping and I actually picked up clothes and said they looked to big. Before I would have went for the largest size, and now I can buy a size 18/20.
I am soo happy for everyone...I can't wait to see what 2006 brings.
