Week's Exercise Challenge 12/19-12/23
Hey Keke I am there with you. I'm already up and moving at 6am. Started laundry have to take my kids to school then its off to Curves where I get measured for my first month, can't wait. Then home to clean laundry ect. Before this surgery I hardly ever made it through the day. I was always laying around not moving. Now I hardly ever sit down.
I got my gazelle a couple days ago in the mail (thanks to the earlier gazelle thread!). The last 2 days I have done 20 min. in the morning and again at night. So far, so good - hope I can keep it up. It is great to do while watching TV, so quiet, and it gets my heartrate up without too much pain!

I was a big lap swimmer before surgery. Took great pride in the fact that I was a fat girl who was in shape! I could swim 50 laps (100 lengths) in 30 minutes. That's cruisin' pretty good. Today I went back for the first time since surgery. I made it 15 minutes (I was real tired after 10), and swam about 15 laps. Wow, funny how many stomach muscles you use trying to stay a float. I'm feeling it!
Gonna stay at 15 minutes this week, then move up to 20 next week. I'll work on speed later . . . .

CONGRATULATIONS, MS KATHY ... THAT IS WONDERFUL THAT YOU ARE BACK EXERCISING IN THE POOL. BE SURE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR IMPROVEMENTS!!!!!!!
I CAN'T DO ANY WEIGHT-BEARING EXERCISES SO I HAVE A RECLINE EXERCISE BIKE THAT I'LL USE AS SOON AS MY MEDS SETTLE DOWN ... BUT, I WAS THINKING ABOUT CHECKING WITH THE LOCAL "Y" IN THE NEW YEAR AS I HEARD THAT THEY HAVE WATER-RESISTANCE EXERCISES WHICH SOUNDED PRETTY GOOD.
CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS DAWN & NICK
