Spanx....

So the saleslady at the store informs me that the Spanx will be very hard to get on the first time, but they will sort of mold to my body shape like bierkenstocks over time. I almost didn't buy them because a)I've never spent $25 for a pair of underwear, not even for my wedding b)they wouldn't let me try them on and they are unreturnable, and c) did I mention the $25???? Well anyway, I follow the directions for getting the best fit, and let me tell you all that putting on a pair of Spanx is like trying to shove a baby back into a vagina. The first time I got them pulled all the way up, I bent over and they rolled all the way down again. The second time I got them up, I made sure they were pulled up higher and they stayed on fine. Then I looked into the mirror. HOLY COW! These things are AMAZING. My panni was 1/2 the size! It doesn't hang down nearly as much and I look at least a size smaller. Tonight was the first time that someone other than my husband and mother told me I looked like I was losing a lot of weight. Was it me or my Spanx? Who cares! I'm going to buy more, so I don't ever have to see my hanging stomach sticking out from under my shirts ever again. Of course, at $25/pair, I won't be buying too many. I hope they last a long time. A panni is short for panniculus and it is the "apron" of skin that hangs down over your belly. Mine was already very big and hangy from losing and gaining 100 lbs several times in my life. Now it hangs so low it covers the top part of my thighs. It's nasty, and the only way to get rid of it is plastic surgery. In a year or two when I'm done losing my weight, I plan on a tummy tuck and a breast reduction/lift. I'm not trying to be superskinny or anything, I'm just tired of being saggy everywhere. I'm 35 and have the droopy body of an 80 yr old. That's just not right on too many levels to count! I got the Spanx at a store here called 4 Seasons, but they sell them online at a lot of places, and at dept stores and Lane Bryant just started carrying them too. They also make pantyhose in different varieties and the "bra"lleujah, which I'm told is the worlds most comfortable bra. Unfortunately it only goes to a DD, and I'm an H. It's made out of panty hose material and you step into it, and it gives tons of support without being uncomfortable. No hooks, no underwire. My friend wears one and she loves it. Have a good day! I need one of those Brallelujahs! I'm off to the website now. I had my panniculectomy when I had my WLS, so I have a flat tummy, but pretty soon my boobies are gonna hit my belly...sorry for the visual. Someone on one of the other forums called hers "tube socks". That's about right. Cheryl

Sheryl- I'm sold! Anything that holds my gut in and gets rid of some "rolls" is worth coughing up the $25 for! Where do you get them???

The ones I got are the Power Panties. They start at your natural waist and go to mid thigh. Sheryl

Does putting them on count as a workout?

Sorry, had to laugh when you said they rolled back down. I can so relate. LOL Also, look at QVC.com you may be able to get them cheaper there too. I know they sell them. =) Kelli
