Carbs????
Another curious question............how many carbs do you average a day. I keep up with mine on fitday.com but I was curious as to how many others were taking in. I'm suppose to do as little as possible because my doctor believes in a "super adtkins" type diet. Thanks for answering all my questions.

I average (on Fitday) between 40 and 50 a day. Super Atkins would be a true challenge to me, since I'm a vegetarian. I get a LOT of my protein from beans, legumes, and soy 'meat' products, and all of those contain carbs, too.
I really am using Fitday to track protein and overall calories, and the carb/fat counts are just a by-product, for me.
According to fitday, I get 25-40 a day. I am vegetarian as well and do depend on beans, but have been avoiding some of the higher carb things like lentil soup, because I don't know how much I should be worried about carbs from natural sources. I went for my 6 week check-up a few days ago, and my surgeon recommended I go for a post-op nutritionist visit to get a clear picture of what I need, not being a meat eater. I'm glad he said that, because I had been thinking about doing that and it gave me the push I needed to make an appointment.
I am going on Tuesday and have so many questions the more I think about it. They only book 1 hour appts. and it's a flat $180 fee, so I am going to ask any question that I ever had about food! Carbs is one, calories is another I wonder about. It's expensive, but I think having some individual attention for that long will be a good opportunity. She attends our support group every month, but it's impossible to ask all the questions you have without being annoying to the other people (so I don't!).
I'll post on here after my meeting with any good info she gives me!
