Feeling very sick....
Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any one you have been sick non stop? Seems like no matter what I do (eat, dont eat, drink, dont drink) Im constantly feeling nausated. It has been going on for well over a month and I'm to the point that I want to just break down and cry, I'm starting to regret this surgery, I mean at least I was not sick before. Any suggestions? I called my surgeon's office but no one answered, I do not know if they did not go in because of the 6 inches of snow we got this morning... anything would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you all,
Jessica
I know this might not help you but I was sick like that for my first 2 weeks and I had sinus drainage. NOt enough to really notice but knew I had some. MY nurse told me to take a "shot" ( 1 tbsp or so)of straight lemon juice first thing in the morning to break up the mucus that collected in the stomach and it worked. i only had to do it a few days in a row before I was no longer sick. It may be worth a shot

Jessica -- so sorry you're not feeling very perky. I too was nauseated off and on after surgery, for about 4 weeks. I finally found that the Bigelow brand tea "Lemon Lift", one cup hot, first thing in the morning really helped. There's not enough lemon in it to hurt you. Just sippy sippy sippy, not more than a tiny bit at one time, but do try to finish the cup before it's cold. Then wait 15-20 minutes and put something easy in your pouch, like yogurt or pudding, but only about 2 ounces. Then wait 15-20 minutes and see if you don't feel better.
Have you tried just nibbling on saltine crackers? about 2 of them, NO MORE. Just nibble, nibble, nibble. Then wait and try something "smooth" like a hot soup, but no chunks of veggies or meat. Don't do both at the same time......
It was about 8 weeks before I could really say that I didn't have trouble with puree or even soft foods, so hang in there, this will pass. Just go VERY slow, and take tiny tiny amounts all day long. Don't try to "eat" a "meal" just yet....
Hope you feel better soon. Do call your doctor if it doesn't get better, but it will, eventually.....

I'm having the same problem. I am 10 weeks post op. Sometimes just the thought of food makes me nauseated. I've vomited 4 or 5 times and I'm nervous about of a lot of food. I can't seem to put anything in my mouth without my stomach turning and then about 2 or 3 bites and I wonder if I'm going to get sick. It is frustrating. My surgeon even mentioned something about a stricture. They explained it, but I'm not sure what it is still. He said if I continue to have a problem that they could go in and dilate it and that may help. I have to admit that I have regretted the surgery since day one. I hope that one day soon I will be through this and won't have any more regrets! I'm not sure what to do myself. Unfortunately we are having these problems, but hopefully they will resolve themselves and we can go on to lose lots of weight and be happier than ever.
