Sometimes I miss!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Keke - sorry you're so sad but it's to be expected. After all, you're in a grief cycle - we've lost our best friend BUT "IT WILL GET BETTER!!!!" Just remember, a year from now we'll be skinnier, healthier, and able to eat whatever we want - YEAH!!! And, compared to the rest of our lives, what's a year???
Anyway, I did a search for you and found a recipe that is low fat and low sugar that I thought you might want to try to "quench the craving". If you're really concerned about the skin, try using breasts, cut them smallish and say they're boneless! Enjoy! Nancy
P.S. If this isn't the type of Chicken Wings you want, try this website - it has loads of different kinds of wings. Just remember to add the http://www:

Pilsbury now makes a sugar free cinnamin roll w/frosting. They are something like 110 calories and 3.5 gms fat. Cant remember the carbs, but they weren't too bad either. They are flavored with Splenda. I bought some to make so I could have one instead of cake for my birthday on Monday.

I know what you mean Keke! But it is definitely worth it! Some of the things I miss most are Chinese food, Vietnamese Pho, pasta, rice, and certain types of bread/rolls. I HAVE learned, however, that there are WLS-friendly substitutes for some things- for instance, I was craving cinnamon toast one day, so I toasted 1/2 of a pita and put butter on it, then sprinkled on some Splenda mixed w/ cinnamon- very tasty! And instead of eating chips with salsa all the time, I have eaten those small pre-cut cheese squares with some salsa on them, or a few Soy Crisps for texture relief- they are pretty good!
I definitely went through a food-mourning period after surgery- funny, the doctors never mentioned that! But it makes sense, for most of my life, food has been a major source of comfort. I guess we just have to find new activities and hobbies to replace that.
Hey KeKe, have you tried chicken wings? Maybe you can eat them. My husband marinades them in teriyaki sauce and then BBQs them. I have never been a wing eater, but I was about 4 weeks out and they smelled so good that I tried a bite. Then I remembered why I never ate them in the first place, I just don't like that type of meat. I didn't have a problem with it, though. Jus****ch what kind of sauce is on them.
