NAUSEA & NOT ABLE TO EAT...
HI everyone.... I will be 8 weeks out this coming Sunday and I have lost almost 60 pounds. I had terrible nausea for the first 4 1/2 weeks and it finally went away. NOW for the past week, if I eat ANYTHING, I get sick to my stomach and just feel like garbage the rest of the day. I am barely eating at this point. Also at this point, I will eat almost anything to get something into my stomach. I had 1/2 of a piece of bread and 2 small bites of a tiny Slimfast bar all day. I can barely get 32 oz of fluid in too. Has anyone else had this happen before? Feel better and then out of no where feel like crap??? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!!
I am about 6 weeks out and have battled nausea from day 1. The only thing that I have found that helps me is ice cold water or tea and soda crackers. In the begining I was only able to tolerate room temp liquids and now I dont like anything that is not ice cold. As far as the crackers go.....well they just seem to settle my stomach when it feels icky. I also discovered that my beloved coffee was making me ill nearly everyday....so I had to give it up. I reccommend keeping a food journal for a couple days and see if there is a little something that maybe setting you off. Otherwise I would contact your doc and see about some anti-nausea meds.
Best wishes and I really hope you feel better soon!

Barbara, you really need to talk to the nutritionist affiliated with your surgeon's office. You know how important it is to get protein, and these nutritionists work with hundreds of patients who have dealt with the same problems you are experiencing. I urge you to call them first thing in the morning, so you can get the nutrition you need to be healthy and lose weight from your stored body fat - not from your lean muscle.
Good luck overcoming this terrible nausea!
