I need some motivation!

I confess.....I am NOT exercising like I should be. I might get in some walking once per week, but that's about it right now. I have no excuse, because the fitness center at my apartments is free AND it is right next to my building. I know the lack of exercise is causing me to lose the weight slower, but I just can't seem to get motivated. I remember when I first started this journey, and I had to lose 20 pounds before the surgery- boy was I motivated then! I guess because the surgery was a tangible goal I was striving for. One thing that will help is not sitting down in front of the TV as soon as I get home from work- because once I get there, it's hard to get going again! So far, I have gone from 284 down to 229, and I am so happy about that. But I know if I start exercising I will feel even better! So any words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'd say something to motivate you, but I'm still too green with envy over your weight loss! WOW! I work out for hours and hours, and I've only lost 42. I know some of that is turning into muscle, but still...WOW!!!! I know that I hated exercising in the beginning, but I really like it now. It makes me feel great about myself, and although the scale may not be reflecting it, I've gone from a size 28 in pants to a 22, and from a 30 in shirts to a 22/24. The new bathing suit I just bought and wore today is a size 20 and it wasn't tight at all. I'm starting to get real muscle definition too. I have actual biceps! The first few weeks suck, but after that it is a great feeling! Give it a go! Sheryl still envious 292/250/1??

Thanks for the encouragement Sheryl! And your 42 pounds is nothing to scoff at either! The hardest part was losing the 20 BEFORE the surgery! My surgeon makes all of his patients lose 5-10% of their weight before surgery to shrink the liver (and also to test their commitment level, I think). Anyway, I coached gymnastics for 8 years (even when I was heavier) and that gave me quite a workout- my arm muscles were buff- LOL. I need to get myself into a routine, then maybe once I get going on that it will be easier- and I'm sure I will feel much better too! Thanks again!

Invision a new, sleeker, stronger, healthier you! You're doing great with the weight loss but imagine how you will feel once you exercise more. I know it's hard but we have to do it to be successful at our goal. Good luck and I'll bother you frequently!! Keke

I absolutely HAVE to hit the gym straight from work or I just won't. I bring my clothes and change at work then drive there and do what I have to do. Definitely not the most fun thing ever, but I know someday it's going to make the difference. I'm sure you will find what's right for you!! Alicia

Hi Jessica, I would saying that losing 54 lbs, you are definitely NOT losing slower! But the exercise will make you feel great! I have a hard time getting motivated to go too, but I kind of force myself! Now that it's so cold out is the hardest time. When I get home from work, I just want to crawl under a blanket! I set a goal of going 4-5 times a week so I can slack off a day or two if I want to. Start out slow! Vi

I have a hard time exercising too. But I have committed myself to going to the gym at least 2 days a week and then try to walk the others. It's tough and right now I hate it, but I hope it gets better!
